You passed right over Will Barton. I get that being negative is your new deal, though.

Seriously? lol

I like Barton and I think the guy has potential, but come on.... you think he's ready to contribute next season?

Because there is more to being a dynamic scorer like Brandon Roy was than being a spot shooter as Lamb is. The defense thing has nothing to do with my comment. You're right, both suck at defense.

Lamb was a 34% shooter from 3 in college. I'd say he has below average deep range. I still say, his best case scenario is Kevin Martin. Even that might be a stretch.

What are you even talking about? The only comparison to Roy that I made was that he didn't play much defense. That's it. I didn't compare his offensive game to Lamb at all.

My point was that most shooting guards are not what I would consider stellar defenders, and I only threw out Roy because that's someone that most of us would understand pretty well. So to say that Lamb is a good scorer, but he sucks on defense is pretty much the stereotypical shooting guard in the NBA.

I saw some guys beat up on a bunch of scrubs. Do you really think any of the guys you mentioned can defend a legitimate post player?

If you think Motiejuna won't contribute next season, or Terrence Jones, or Royce White, I think you'll be surprised. Motiejuna especially looks like the real deal. That guy has some serious moves. He made Meyers Leonard look like a YMCA scrub with some of those pump fakes.

There's a bigger difference between Roy and Lamb than just both sucking at defense and being good scorers. There's so much more in Roy's offensive arsenal that Lamb could dream about.

Lamb really showed some nice athleticism on those dunks

Guy is going to be really good.

It's like arguing with a wall. :sigh:

This is all I said about Roy.

I think it's funny when people say, "well he can score... but that's it." Shit, that's most of the shooting guards in the NBA. Brandon Roy didn't exactly do much on defense either. If he ends up averaging 20+ ppg, I think we'll regret passing on him.

and

I'm not saying he's going to be a super star (Roy was), but I think he could easily average 20+ ppg.

I have no idea why you keep comparing them offensively.

An All-Star PF, a PF waived by his last team, and a guy from England who hasn't played a single game even in the summer league, and who also seems like a PF instead of a C.

Yeah, the front-court is loaded.

Everything I've heard regarding Freeland recently says his game is better suited to C than PF in the NBA.

You said you think it's funny when people say "well he can score... but that's it." Then you said you could say that about most shooting guards in the NBA and brought up Brandon Roy. If someone said "well he can score... but that's it" about Roy, that person would be an idiot.

Thank you. I didn't think it was some kind of riddle.

No... I said, "brandon Roy didn't do much on defense either." How do you take that statement and equate it to "he can score... but that's it."

What did I say you said that you didn't say?

Lamb reminded me a bit of Kevin Martin in his Sactown days. Pretty fast, slight build and will shoot it 90% of the time you pass it to him.

You said I brought up brandon Roy and all I said was that he didn't play much defense. You're making it out like I said Roy was just a scorer. I don't understand how you and zags misread that so horribly. Its like.... holy shit.... throw out roys name and people immediately see red.

Because you are insinuating that Roy was a one-dimensional scorer like Lamb. There was so much more to his game. But you are correct, both suck at defense.

No, im stating that most shooting guards only play one end of the floor. I never said anything about lamb or anyone for that matter being one dimensional scorers.

Ok I think I see where the confusion is. When I said "score and that's it" I meant that they're only interested in offense. I should have said "offense and that's it"... but I never attributed that to Roy. I only said that he wasn't a very good defender, which you agree with.

I like how Mickzagger is just making stuff up about Lamb to make himself feel better

Comcast are the thieves, not my fellow posters.

Comcast pays for the right to show Blazers games, and the NBA owns those rights.

People (whether our fellow posters or not) who refuse to pay for what's owned by others are thieves. It's ridiculous to think that the NBA or Comcast are stealing summer league games.

Well, I watched it for free. So liberating.
