Blazers vs Spurs

if we're going to chat hoops, why not base things on what is rather then what we hope? While every fans has dreams, I knew what you were relaying wasn't remotely close to true. I'm sure Tiago will take a few turns at guarding LA, my guess is theres good reason why Pop hasn't given him the lead role you claim he's up for. Its going to be fun

Funny how he called someone out for not knowing the game, then was called out about the size difference between Howard and splitter.

I mean we all know now where this guy stands. When one says splitter is a better defender than Howard, you know there is something wrong upstairs.

And Jeremy Lin shit away game 4

The Blazers shit away Game 3 at the end. What's your point? I know the Blazers winning must be tough on you, and you're probably trying to wonder how to balance being a fan as opposed to being the Batum Hater you've been for 6 years.

Since 2008, Blazers are 14-7 against the Spurs. But no matter what happens, I have way more respect for the Spurs than the ESPN manufactured Thunder. I'm glad to see the Blazers at least get a chance to a fair series in the second round. If they were playing the Thunder or Clippers, I would not even want to watch the series (it would be equivalent to the Raptors vs Nets series).

Your post added nothing to the thread

Maybe you should pick a different thread to post in, or maybe create another Benghazi thread no one will give a shit about

Yup, let's not pretend like the Blazers are a dominant home team. I think we actually play better on the road.

31-10 at home, 23-18 on the road. I'd rather the team win than 'play better.'

What? You said Lin shit away Game 4. I said the Blazers shit away Game 3. It was a close series, and the Blazers won 4 games, and Houston won 2 games. I'm sorry that you think the better team lost, but many of us here disagreed with you.

If by shit away you mean the Blazers gave up 22 offensive rebounds in game 3 then yes

The Blazers were outworked in game 3

Mavfan said the same thing the other day (even I believed it), then G7 happened today and the Spurs went apeshit.

If we are using Spurs games against other teams as examples............How the hell did you guys choke away game 6 in Miami? Still pissed about that one.

NOTABLE: Tiago Splitter's streak of three-straight double-doubles ended after he appeared to tweak his left leg in the first half; he finished with one point and two rebounds in 15 minutes

Interesting

You said Houston was the better team. Why are you denying it? Maybe I'm the only one who sees your shtick, and now how you're giving backhanded compliments to the Blazers. It's hard to take that stuff seriously. Do you still believe Houston is the better team?

He hasn't been given that lead role because he's either been out or LA was out for most of the matchups. Splitter will be a tougher defender than either Howard or Asik were for LA.

Wanna wager?

You also apparently don't understand defensive metrics and styles outside the ball went in the basket/the ball didn't go in the basket. Your arguments have been pretty compelling nonetheless tho.

Is it your goal to troll me and derail this thread?

Take your "shtick" to another thread

Thanks!

LOL We're still trying to figure out det one

Idk, you good for it?

Also need to see how serious this apparent Splitter injury is; although he's been huge for the Spurs the past few years, he's also one of the softest players in the league and can miss weeks at a time for minor injuries. If its his calf then it could be months.

I'm seriously good for it... I always like fans that can put their money where their mouth is.

For the record, nobody stops true top players, but you can slow them. Splitter won't shut down LA, but he'll make him work for his buckets more than Howard or Asik did away from the basket.

So what would be the specifics for the bet? Splitter holding LA to worse shooting numbers than Howard/Asik?

Asik and Howard both played Aldridge extremely tough. After Asik took over for Jones in game 3 Aldridge really only had 1 really good game after that.

I don't anticipate Splitter being any tougher than those two

Asik is a big fucker too. A true center. Really tough.

I don't think Splitter tougher than Asik. I think Asik is the tougher player.

Asik and Splitter are actually pretty similar, but Splitter is more mobile while Asik is a better rim protector/rebounder. Splitter is much better offensively though; he's an elite PnR player on both ends of the ball tbh.

Splitter is softer than toilet paper unfortunately. Doesn't make him any worse of a defender though, and his ability to ignore/read through pump fakes is ridiculous.

What gets Aldridge is playing against tough bigs that can push him out near the 3pt line. Asik was good at this because he's a big strong fucker that is hard to move.

I think Aldridge will have an easier time setting up against Splitter compared to Asik.
