You can try to spin it if you want, but I guarantee you Popovich would not be playing CJ right now. Obviously CJ is not going to throw shade and admit that he thinks Stotts is pressuring him to get reps.

The fact remains that CJ said he “didn’t need reps” in the regular season when asked a direct question along the lines of “Stotts says you need reps, do you?” Obviously I’m reading into this, but I don’t think it’s unlikely that Stotts is doing his usual and rushing him back. Stotts will likely be fired if he doesn’t get past the first round this year: there is a conflict of incentives between him and CJ, who is thinking long term.
I'm not "spinning" anything. I'm quoting CJ as well.

This is the same interview where he was saying he doesn't need a tune-up game. I can't read that in any way other than "CJ is playing because CJ feels ready to play".

Ah yes the trustworthy blazers medical staff. When have they ever gotten anything wrong! Brandon Roy totally didn’t end his career by rushing back to the playoffs amirite

There’s plenty of argument to be had about it, just not with sub-human rookie scum like Nurkalicous!

What does Brandon Roy have to do with the Blazers medical staff? Are you under the impression that the same people are in charge? Or do you just pick and choose when to bring objectivity into your discussions?

You’re quoting a politically-correct non-answer from
CJ and refusing to even consider any other explanation. Again, he’s obviously not gonna come out and say “YO! STOTTS MAKIN ME PLAY AND IM NOT READY THAT FUCKIN BUM ONLY CARES ABIUT NOT GETTIN FIRED.”

It’s possible he feels ready to play. It’s also possible he doesn’t. This answer doesn’t really tell us anything. What we know is Stotts would surely rush a player back.

I have never been under their care but as i understand it. The Blazers have some of the very best in the league. As has been exhibited by the relatively low injury games they have had to deal with.
You are absolutely correct that they are a different group from 2008-2010.

Many of the same people are in charge, yes.

Many of the same people are in charge, yes.
This is simply not true...Bobby Medina has been gone a long time as has Chris Stackpoole…(sp)...BRoy was at least two medical staff scenarios ago...they brought in a new team not that long ago..point is, they know what they need to know to determine recovery...my son studied this stuff for 4 years at OSU..bashing Bobby Medina and those folks is ancient history at this point. It's like saying Nate McMillan has an effect on Damian Lillard.

With regards to injury timelines, they’re not.
They were hired by the same fools who hired the fools that rushed Roy back and ruined his career.

Plus, the point isn’t even that our current medical staff is shit, it’s just that their opinion isn’t infallible. There’s definitely reason to be concerned about CJ not having enough time off given the obvious incentive to return quickly: the playoffs.

(None of this is controversial, you’re just arguing bc I’m saying it).

Me too. It’s probably bc you’re incapable of treating me like a decent person and the only time you talk to me at all is to smugly correct me.

“CJ had a serious knee injury, rest could help”

“NO. IT WASNT SERIOUS. IT WASNT SEASON-ENDING.”

“Uh yeah but the word serious just means ‘important / demands special care’ ... it doesn’t mean you were knocked out of the season.”

“OH BROTHER.”

“Uh sorry for using the correct definition of a word?”

“THIS IS WHY EVERYONE HATES YOU. YOURE WRONG. BYE.”

Oh and don’tforget the time you said I was “bitching” about Damian. It’s astonishing you can act like this and think you’re being civil...

Cool story bro

Cool story bro

Sorry for literally quoting all the uncivil stuff you said to me. I’m sure you’ll be happy to act like it never happened and to continue treating me like the sub human scum that I am.

Well that really isn't true either but fuck it. Who has time for details that actually make sense. I mean There are like zero fools left from 2009 in the current team. Even the owner is gone. R.I.P. Mr. Allen.

Your words, not mine.

Just so I have this correct, you think Brandon Roys career was ruined because the Blazers rushed him back? Had nothing to do with his knees not having cartilage left? Or was that the Blazers fault as well?

Right, you just called me a bitch.

Wait no, you passive-aggressively called me a “bitch” by saying I was “bitching.”

My mistake! The latter is so civil!

Csb.

This is a different medical staff then when Roy play.

Actually, nourwrong. Roy had his career ended by a lack of meniscus in his knee. He was cleared to play in that series because his knee literally couldn’t be made worse by playing in it.

Roy ruined his own damned career...he did kick fighting Tae Kwon Do longer than he played basketball...he said he was good to go and two days later said he had to retire for medical reasons so he could play with his kids...then he's suited up for the Wolves the following year...BRoy did what he wanted to and got paid really well to milk it for the Wolves...now he coaches HS hoops in his hometown...if that medical staff fucked up it was with Greg Oden if anyone in my view. BRoys knees were on thin ice when he entered the league. Gambled and lost but at least BRoy brought fans back from the Jailblazers era
