No, he wasn’t. One of many stupid off the cuff comments from the orange person.

Doesn’t change the fact that that video becomes sort of ridiculous when viewed under the context of how these wars started in the first place.
Many stupid off the cuff comments by the orange person is the understatement of the year. However, I think you were getting a true picture of how this ass hole thinks.

I don't believe this to be true, to be honest. He's a dumbshit, no doubt, but I don't think even he would say this kind of shit.

Sure he would. This is exactly the sort of thing he'd say. He has no empathy.

When he rambles off insane bullshit he's not thinking about what comes next...he's spewing chunks to see what sticks on the wall. Trump is a tiny shell of a man...a coward..a liar and a cheat

Think it? Sure. say it? I doubt it. it sounds too good to be true (good in the sense of proof he's a fucking idiot).

The mental gymnastics you do to justify defending trump is pretty incredible.

Sure. “You love Trump” is usually what the conversation devolves to when no arguments are left.

You fell head over heels for a crappy sensationalist political ad, so much so you felt inclined to make an entire thread about it. Sorry I made fun of it and pointed out the glaring irony of the ad inadvertently proving Democrats are also pieces of shit. I thought it was a pretty interesting take, didn’t mean to make you guys’ heads explode.

If you mean "sorry I totally argued against something that wasn't what the commercial was about nor anyone with sense would make the association" then I apology accepted.

people don't argue about a train wreck...they just say.."Look! A train wreck!" Probably gets an article on the front page tomorrow....nobody is seeing heads explode over it but hey....poke a stick at dems if you like...democracy! I'm ready...vote right now!

You’re appalled that I would point out any irony within that ad because it’s “not what the commercial was about”. What the fuck does that even mean? Nobody is supposed to comment on the ad unless they accept its premise? I didn’t realize “POWs” and “war” were two subjects that were so astronomically unrelated to one another. How would anyone dare to suggest it.

You were fawning over a dumb commercial, I made fun of it, you got mad and now we aren’t arguing about anything. So get the last word in and I’ll stop talking about it.

about Democrats "starting wars"

* WWII: sure seems like Germany started this one in 1939 by invading Poland. They were bombing London by 1940. Of course, you could say Japan started WWII when they invaded China in 1937. And, 4 years later they attacked the US by bombing the shit out of the Navy and Air Force at Pearl Harbor. FDR was president and a democrat, but yeah, saying a "Democrat started WW2" is pretty fucking ridiculous

* Korean War: North Korea invaded South Korea in 1950 when Truman, a Democrat was president. The US had a protection treaty with South Korea, but this was obviously a proxy war with the USSR. Still, it was North Korea that started that war. Neither South Korea or the US invaded North Korea

* Vietnam: this is a little more complex. The first American Military advisors were sent to Vietnam by Truman in 1950, mostly as an ancillary action to the Korean War and a response to the "Domino Theory". The number of advisors escalated sharply under Eisenhower, an R, after France abandoned the war there in 1954. Kennedy, a D, Sent even more advisors. Then it was Johnson, a D, who sent the first combat troops in 1965; that was 3,500 troops and in about 3 years that number had escalated to over half a million. Nixon, and R, campaigned on 'peace with honor' and about half of all US combat deaths occurred while Nixon and Kissinger were looking for some honorable way out. Finally, the US left in a most dishonorable way. The Gulf of Tonkin Resolution, a dishonest bunch of bullshit almost as filled with lies as the justification for the Iraq war passed the Senate in 1964 and every R in the senate voted in favor. Only 2 senators, both D's, and one of them Oregon's Wayne Morse voted against the resolution. And Nixon was the president who went hog wild in trying to bomb the North into the stone age, and even expanded the bombing to Cambodia

so yeah, I guess you could say D's were primary in ginning up that war, but they had plenty of help from the R's. And if Nixon hadn't been such a slimy political shit, the number of body bags could have been cut in half

* Afghanistan: ok, 9-11, twin towers. Irony is not a single hijacker was an Afghan. 15 of the 19 were Saudi, but of course we weren't going to attack Saudi Arabia. They were trained by al-Qaeda in camps in Afghanistan and that was the justification for that war. You can say al-Qaeda started that war, but the reality is there were several decades of policies stoking Arab hatred also to blame.

* Iraq: bullshit war started with bullshit and lies by an R administration.

Hey, why muddy things up by doing research into it?

If I were free to talk about Trump I wouldn't be as kind as you. You're too soft.

I wonder if the passing of RBG is the end of the liberal love affair with the Lincoln Project? They're anti Trump, not anti getting another conservative seat on the SC.
