My gut always favored him. Height and agility over brute strength.Good stuff to build off of and a bunch of negatives...
Amen with another really nice start...

I'm not going to blame Scoot so much for this one. He played 41 minutes in a historically lopsided game so I would expect him to have a really bad plus/minus.https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/nba-worst-plus-minus-in-a-game-in-history
Here's one list the Blazers can dominate!
Oh I was talking about Wemby. I think the post I replied to was about Wemby, was it not?I'd guess a rich man's Tony Allen; or a quicker Ron Artest. If he reaches that all-league defensive level he'll stick, especially if the NBA follows thru on allowing more defensive contact. His perimeter shooting may always be his big flaw, but he's finding ways to minimize that negative impact, which is kind of impressive for a rookie.
His .570 TS% is impressive, considering; but he's posting that mark by taking over 50% of his shots at the rim and shooting 72% when he gets there. I haven't seen him enough to know if he has that high a rate of shots at the rim because he's adept at dribble drive. I'd think he'd have been well scouted by now so maybe he's Brandon Roy-ish with dribble-drive. That would be impressive with his size and athleticism
How can a 20 year old possibly turn things around and become good?!?! It's never been done before.
I don't understand why so many seem to be rooting for that kid to fail.
Because they want to be "right" about Brandon Miller or Amen Thompson.

Well, he could hardly fail to get better, but good will be a challenge. How can a 20 year old possibly turn things around and become good?!?! It's never been done before.

That was an opportunity for kids who had no reason to go to college for a year, a chance to play ball and make some money. The NIL situation made it an obsolete business structure. "crock of shit"?I’m glad ignite fell apart. What a crock of shit that was.
Bro, he's played like 50 something games in his career....just turned 20......"STILL have trust in him" WHAT!!??I wish i could have the same trust in Scoot like many other posters still have in him.
You want to take out our freshly turned 20 year old who NEEDS time on the court to learn this shit, and put in a player who will be bagging your groceries and not on an NBA roster in 3 weeks?where's Hagans? Billups had 2 guards Henderson/Banton last night. Thybulle's gimpy ankle only lasted 5 minutes. Scoot was playing horrible defense and wonky offense, and Billups wouldn't/couldn't sub him out.
not to replace Henderson, just to have Hagans available to give Scoot a breather. A few minutes for Scoot to reflect and get some coaching advice. Ashton is a decent defender w/ball handling. If anyone noticed... the Blazers could have used these skills while the Heat played razzle dazzle towards their 60 point whoopin'.You want to take out our freshly turned 20 year old who NEEDS time on the court to learn this shit, and put in a player who will be bagging your groceries and not on an NBA roster in 3 weeks?

Those players would be far better off going to college, IMO. They didn't do a very good job developing Scoot. In fact, I'd say they did a terrible job. Any officially NBA supported alternative to college basketball should result in far more polished players than we've seen. That was an opportunity for kids who had no reason to go to college for a year, a chance to play ball and make some money. Our future really hinges on good drafting so people are quick to be skeptical. I understand the panic. But I still think Scoot can become a Jason Kidd-lite
Amen Thompson looking like a young Andre Iguodala.
Fuck that....kid is twenty. He'll get a breather in about 2.5 weeks. He needs to be out there getting trapped by vets.... forced into turnovers and get dunked on! There is no better way to learn than to be humbled! As long as there is somebody there to help him learn from it. He's got a great mentor in Billups.not to replace Henderson, just to have Hagans available to give Scoot a breather. A few minutes for Scoot to reflect and get some coaching advice. He wasn't going to get any better coaching at Georgia Tech or UG.....Those players would be far better off going to college, IMO. They didn't do a very good job developing Scoot. It appears the Ignite were more an obstacle of success rather than a path to it.
a better coached 30 minutes for Scoot might be better then hopeless 40 minutes. Billups likes Ashton, he's a scrapper. I think Coach was looking for him in Miami, but the labtop nerds sent Ashton back to the G-League.Fuck that....kid is twenty. He'll get a breather in about 2.5 weeks. Why not? Do they not work on shooting? Apparently the Ignite don't... He would have almost certainly played more games against comparable competition. He wasn't going to get any better coaching at Georgia Tech or UG.....
