Canzano: Back off Seattle! Trail Blazers still belong to Portland

So you guys can fill up multiple 20 page threads about "moving to Seattle" conspiracies, but Canzano can't write one article about it? Funny.

I agree with you. Both are ridiculous. Canzano knows how to push our buttons. As I recall when Whitsitt was let go, the Bald one told us we were all foolish if we didn't think Bob would still be pulling strings from Seattle even after he was fired. How did that prediction turn out? That theory was beyond idiotic.

Paul Allen is not moving the team. Forbes puts the value on the team and arena at $1 billion. It would be cheaper for him to sell the team and use the money to buy an expansion franchise for Seattle. The NBA would agree to it because they would have an owner with NBA experience and deep pockets owning the team.

The difference is, not a single one of the tin foil hat wearing Blazer fans make a living do so.

Did you mean he's not moving the team?

Stopped clock.

If you make predictions frequently, occasionally you'll be right. Especially if they are yes/no predictions.

Clownzano is an oppurtunist who uses pessimism as a a device to protaganize fans...he is a cynical hack

Seattle can't keep a team with Kevin Durant on a rookie scale at the time. Can't build an arena and 44k baseball fans pack the house for the Mariners most of the year with a portion of them watching the Seahawks....Portland has no competition in it's bid to keep the Blazers...this is a hogwash topic from the start. Also adds to the distance traveled for road games...and risks losing the best homecrowd in the league and a long legacy of success....that and the fact that Canzano is an ass muncher
If you haven't, you may be interested in watching SonicsGate. A little off base on the Seattle remarks imo.

Preying on your lingering fears is the key.

So is he like the Freddy Krueger ( minus the child predator part) of the sports world preying on the dreams of Blazers fans through their fears

He can write whatever he wants. We can mock him however we want.

Well some fans just don't like hearing the truth ya know.

Tell me, what's the truth?

The only truth is we hired Calabro.

Please, enlighten me to ALL the other truths that you say some don't like hearing.

I'll wait.

You're wasting your time expecting an actual response. Just say "Damian drinks like a fish" and laugh at the situation.

It's an undeniable fact that PA is a billionaire whose every move since buying the Blazers has been conceived through the eyes of PA's future Seattle NBA fans.

He has been careful to avoid signing Oregon sports heroes when feasible and is constantly purging us of the most popular "hometown" kind of front office and media guys. Any other owner would have made sure Kevin Love was a Blazer, and few would be hiring past employees of our closest rival for decades.

Its an undeniable fact that your post is not a fact, but opinion.

Just sayin. ;)

So, Danny Ainge and Damon Stoudamire were smoke screens? He went hard after Damon and then vastly overpaid to keep him.

Some of you need to remember that he is a columnist, not a reporter. His job is to provoke discussion, Congrats on a job well don, John

Then he must be the slowest moving guy in the world.

Every move has been future Seattle fans? When he bought the team Seattle had its own franchise. Did he have a crystal ball telling him they would lose the franchise the same year they added a franchise player?

He's owned the team for how many years now? 30-odd? It's an undeniable fact that they are still the Portland Trail Blazers.

Businesses often hire employees of rivals when they can.

Why Kevin Love? Maybe the team should also have drafted Adam Morrison because, you know, he was the home town guy and Brandon Roy an evil Seattleite? That would sure have worked out well, wouldn't it? What other sports heroes has he refused to hire? Walton, with his long history of feuding with the team?

BNM beat me to the punch with Mighty Mouse.

A lot of Blazers have come from elsewhere and become Oregonians. Luke, Kersey, Porter, Dudley. And now Lillard. Don't know of any who became Seattleites.

An "undeniable fact" is not what you happen to make up on a board. Acceleration due to gravity is an undeniable fact. Paul Allen spending decades and millions of dollars on a Portland team for the sole purpose of moving it to Seattle is not acceleration due to gravity.

Yellow Hummer! It's obvious that Damon bought all of his weed in Washington. That makes him more Seattle than Portland.

And Ainge is Mormon. That makes him... something, just not Portland.

That yellow Hummer was pulled over in Vancouver, if I'm not mistaken
