It's an undeniable fact that PA is a billionaire whose every move since buying the Blazers has been conceived through the eyes of PA's future Seattle NBA fans.
He has been careful to avoid signing Oregon sports heroes when feasible and is constantly purging us of the most popular "hometown" kind of front office and media guys. Any other owner would have made sure Kevin Love was a Blazer, and few would be hiring past employees of our closest rival for decades.
Then he must be the slowest moving guy in the world.
Every move has been future Seattle fans? When he bought the team Seattle had its own franchise. Did he have a crystal ball telling him they would lose the franchise the same year they added a franchise player?
He's owned the team for how many years now? 30-odd? It's an undeniable fact that they are still the Portland Trail Blazers.
Businesses often hire employees of rivals when they can.
Why Kevin Love? Maybe the team should also have drafted Adam Morrison because, you know, he was the home town guy and Brandon Roy an evil Seattleite? That would sure have worked out well, wouldn't it? What other sports heroes has he refused to hire? Walton, with his long history of feuding with the team?
BNM beat me to the punch with Mighty Mouse.
A lot of Blazers have come from elsewhere and become Oregonians. Luke, Kersey, Porter, Dudley. And now Lillard. Don't know of any who became Seattleites.
An "undeniable fact" is not what you happen to make up on a board. Acceleration due to gravity is an undeniable fact. Paul Allen spending decades and millions of dollars on a Portland team for the sole purpose of moving it to Seattle is not acceleration due to gravity.
