Carter next?

I hope so but I doubt it.

Not because I dislike Carter, I think he is a nice guy, and unlike Kidd he has been a pro. But I just want to move on and rebuild but his contract does not let us do that.

someone in the west may go for him, especially for a push for this years title
i cant think of teams off the top of my head, but others can

As the dyslexic agnostic said, is there a dog?

oh yes I predict Wince Harder is next

I assume we keep him to bring fans to the arena but I wouldn't mind the LA trade where we get Mobley.

i dont see Carter being moved. Now that thorn has made the Kidd move hes goin to see how this works out at least for the remainder of the season.

My first loyalty is to Carter, so if he's traded, that will be my new team. But I've become attached to several Nets as well, namely RJ and Nenad and Sean Williams. So I'd like to see Carter remain for at least the rest of this season. And I'd really like to see what Marcus could do if Frank were forced to let him play through his mistakes.

I also would like to see how Carter responds now to being on the other end of the same sort of shaft he gave to Toronto by asking to be traded from there when things weren't going well. That says to teammates "you aren't good enough for me". And I wonder if now having that implicit insult issued to him from Kidd in any way motivates him to have another half season like that he put together in 2004-05. I'm curious if he has matured at all and is any better equipped to "lead" a team now than he was then. Probably not, but I'm curious.

From the Nets' standpoint, I still think now is the worst time to trade Carter because of the below par performance he's had this season due to the ankle. He's only just now beginning to look healthy moving, and I think they should at least wait and see if he can raise his trade value with a strong second half to 07-08.

For the mere fact to get rid of the contract, it isn't that bad.

I think in thorn's mind this is a retooling at least for the remainder of this year. VC becomes the focal point of the offense without looking over his shoulders, it becomes much more 5 on 5. harris is a knock down jump shooter. He will spearhead the defense at the point of attack. Stack becomes the 6th man and he will not be bought out. Can't see the Nets carrying 90% of 16 million for another 2 seasons.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>I also like Vince Carter, but with J-Kidd gone, his days are probably numbered too. The Nets are willing to send Vince to Indiana for Jermaine O'Neal if O'Neal receives a clean bill of health within the next week. If he does, I've been told by league sources that there's a 70 percent chance of this trade going down.</div>

In all that Kidd trade talk. Magloire would be included.

Source?

Also I don't see Thorn making a deal like this w/ Kidd to base another off one where if a player is healthy enough to move.

No one wants Carter. His trade value is about as low as it was in his final days of Toronto... maybe even lower.

What?! You're not attached to Nets FANS?!

LMAO, of course! That goes without saying. That's another reason I don't want Vince traded. Then I suppose I would find myself chatting on new boards with new people. I just want to stick it out here. Though I suppose some around here would love to trade Vince if for no other reason than they might get rid of me.

I'm not too sure. I'm thinking yes, since Kalim was traded.

They just said something along those lines on WFAN, w/ his extension.

Yes J.O. could be coming to NJ

Alright...

Vince Carter, Magloire and Marcus Williams

for

Larry Hughes, Drew Gooden and Daniel Gibson

this makes no sense at all. gooden will get no time here and gibson is an overrated chucker and hughes' contract is just as bad as vc.

I don't see why we can't ride the West arms-race and send him to Utah or N.O. Now that the playoff teams are starting to want to separate themselves, I see those teams as being teams on the cusp who could benefit, and desire, Carter.

Although now that he's playing better, and seems to be affected by his ankle a little bit less, I'm inclined to keep him.

utah is rolling without him, they dont need him and NO has nothing to offer

I don't think Utah needs Vince. They just traded for Korver, who is exactly what they needed: a shooter. Now they're on a win streak (at least I think they still are).
