You said people are born the sex that their body dictates. You are wrong. And it's less fringe than you think. And actually, I take my original post back because you probably do know people who are transgender. But I take offense to you discrediting transgendered people because "there aren't a lot of them." That's horrible.
You're so hilarious.Someone should open a donut shop and say it is against their religious beliefs to serve cops.
Their choices? To be their true selves? You think they should live a tortured existence? It's one of the most painful things I can imagine, being stuck with the wrong body. I think it's wonderful when they decide to live as the gender they were born with. How am I wrong? Please explain.
"I probably..." because you are a fortune teller, no? I've met and taught people who are trans, and they were very nice people who I don't despise. That doesn't mean I can't disagree with their choices. Take offense all you want; you can't handle people disagreeing with you can you?
I'm sorry brother. Everything in this reply by you is hard to decipher, especially when it comes to "true selves". When did I say anyone should live a tortured existence?Their choices? Right, if I told someone that black people should have legal rights, would it be ok for someone to say "no, they shouldn't! You just can't handle people disagreeing with you, can you?"
I'm trying to educate you. You don't like your limited beliefs to be challenged, do you?
That's funny that you don't know how to respond directly to the truth.Aww, it's like you actually believe it.

That's funny that you don't know how to respond directly to the truth.![]()

But sometimes, they are the wrong body parts. It happens.I'm sorry brother. Everything in this reply by you is hard to decipher, especially when it comes to "true selves". When did I say anyone should live a tortured existence?
"Being stuck with the wrong body". This is one of my biggest pet peaves........
Really? YOU ARE BORN WITH CERTAIN BODY PARTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You think you're educating me? Trust me bro, I've heard it all.
In the other thread in the OT section regarding heaven and afterlife and souls and such, there is lots of discussion about the scientific community deciding that consciousness and sentience is nothing more than biology, that there is nothing more significant there than neural synapses firing. Wouldn't it hold, then, that this notion of gender identity is also nothing more than biology, wholly dependant upon electrical impulses in the brain firing in a certain way? Why is it that as a society, we've decided that the invisible, indecipherable biology of the brain is somehow of greater import than than simple biology of the genitalia? Especially when we're continually told that perception is fallible and malleable; shouldn't that concept apply to our own self-perception as well? But sometimes, they are the wrong body parts. It happens.
Come on now, is she really your friend? Do you really know her?Should my friend Laverne Cox be forced to use a men's restroom? Would you want her to?

Yes I do. I mean, we're not best friends. I don't have many real friends but she and I have hung out.Come on now, is she really your friend? Do you really know her?

Well you tell her she's a great fucking actor! She does a good job of making me mad at her character and still feel bad for her character.Yes I do. I mean, we're not best friends. I don't have many real friends but she and I have hung out.
Orange is the New Black?Well you tell her she's a great fucking actor! She does a good job of making me mad at her character and still feel bad for her character.
I think you're right that the brain is incredibly important. Surely you've met small figured men who think they are big tough dudes and large men who think of themselves as meek. There are many examples of gender identity disorder who are depressed until they have gender reassignment surgery and then the depression goes away.In the other thread in the OT section regarding heaven and afterlife and souls and such, there is lots of discussion about the scientific community deciding that consciousness and sentience is nothing more than biology, that there is nothing more significant there than neural synapses firing. You say "people are born with the wrong parts". You're saying that if they two disagree, the brain is right and the body is wrong. If it's all biology, why is the brain's biology more important than the body's biology?I'm lost.

In the US of A, everyone is free to go to any church they want, believe whatever they want, and speak about whatever religion they want. They are NOT free to take away someone else's rights.
