OT Charles Oakley arrested during Knicks game

Oakely: "Hey Phil, you should have stuck to coaching!"

So what was up at the end there? Did he just lie down on the floor like a two year old and refuse to get up?

My guess is, everyone made a mistake. Oakley was mad about something, but not out of control.

And, it was not Oakley that took it to a higher level. He was not the first to start the physical contact. He only pushed back when the guards grabbed him. I probably would have thrown five knuckle sandwiches if grabbed like that.

I think so. I was wondering the same thing. He just kind of goes dead weight and lays down. Then there is John McEnroe looking on thinking: Damn, so that's what I look like when I throw a fit

Or did he have a heart attack or something? I mean people started looking concerned and it almost looked like the security guy was doing CPR on him.

Looked to me like he was trying to talk with them and they just kept grabbing at him. Then again, they were asking him to leave and he would not do it of his own accord forcing them to take action. But, hell if I paid for tickets like that I'd be staying too. I'd have fought back too. I don't blame him.

maybe he was pretending to, just to fuck with them, or so he could sue them

I am sure if he had a heart attack we would have heard something to the affect that he was in the hospital and not in a jail cell.

Oakley had a pretty serious back injury in a nightclub fight or something a few years ago....watching the video he looks like someone who might be guzzling pain killers....Vicodin rage...that's an ugly addiction if it's the case

Why did so many people already have their cell phones out before that? Does anyone go to games anymore to watch it live or are we walking around like human DVR's?

Jesus, we don't have to film everything.

Hey, I only saw him punch one person. Are shoves considered punches now? The article says he punched three people, I didn't see there punches.

If Dolan wouldn't have called security to escort Oakley out merely becausevge was there, and have all these security guys get in his face, there would have been no altercation.
I think the article said he punched them later, on the other side of the tunnel?

Did it? Damn, how convienent for the Knicks. I thought it said he was in handcuffs by then?

I thought it was funny that he was trying to give his watch to someone.

I'm really not sure why he was doing that. But one of my friends was arrested in NYC and he said that they didn't give him back ANY of his shit. He was released without his phone, any money, all of his jewelry, and his SHOES lol. So I'm thinking, Oakley was either thinking, they ain't stealing my shit, or he didn't want the cuffs to scratch his watch, or he's old school and didn't want to wear his watch whilst fighting. Idk lol.

Btw, when he was asking for his shit back, they told him to leave, or he could get processed again.

He left.

This is what I kept thinking, Dolan throws a Knicks legend out of the game for no reason and Oakley is the bad guy in all this?! WTF

No reason? What was Oakley yelling at Dolan to merit getting thrown out? Oakley's the asshole in this, even if his criticism of Dolan is 100% correct.

There are two competing versions of events. In Oakley's, he's the victim in all of this. Here's the Knicks' version:

"There are dozens of security staff, employees and NYPD that witnessed Oakley's abusive behavior. It started when he entered the building and continued until he was arrested and left the building. Every single statement we have received is consistent in describing his actions. Everything he said since the incident is pure fiction."

The incident occurred during a stoppage in play as Kristaps Porzingis was shooting free throws in the first quarter against the visiting LA Clippers. A police source told ESPN that Oakley had purchased a seat a few rows behind Dolan and was making comments at the Knicks' owner, who eventually had security escort Oakley from the arena.
I'm not going to pick sides. :bwpopcorn:

Yeah, that was pretty funny. I wouldn't want my Rolex to get ripped either.

Oakley bought his ticket, if Dolan didn't like being heckled by a legend he could have left. He owns every seat in that arena, I'm sure the Knicks have a skybox. Instead Dolan called security to shut him up.

1. the man paid for his ticket
2. he didnt say anything directly to dolan or even about him just being loud (and probably negative)
3. they sent 15 security guards to escort him out without warning
4. knicks tweeted after it happened "we hope he gets the help he needs" (classy...)
5. dolan owns MSG so there is probably somewhere else he can sit
6. He watched smiling as security escorted him out

fuck dolan and anyone who tries stand with him against Oak in this situation or any in the future

How would you know what he said?

My mom met Oakley because they had the same rare foot problem. Same Dr. who specialized in it. It was some kind of arch problem.

She said he was one of the nicest people she's met.

I had to show some Youtube clips.
