Casey Holdahl @CHold 3m The fifth metatarsal of the left foot is same bone McCollum broke during his senior year at Lehigh, not sure if that impacts return timeline
Would it be better to just sit the year out, make sure the foot is healed, and do the rookie season next year?

TUALATIN – The Portland Trail Blazers announced that rookie guard CJ McCollum will require surgery after fracturing the fifth metatarsal bone in his left foot.
The injury occurred during Saturday's practice when McCollum was attempting to set a screen at the practice facility. A prognosis for his return will be made after surgery.
This is the same left foot that McCollum broke during his senior season at Lehigh University that caused him to miss the rest of that year.
McCollum, 22, was taken No. 10 in the 2013 NBA Draft by the Trail Blazers. From all accounts, he was having a sensational training camp after strong showings in involuntary workouts.
He was expected to compete with Wesley Matthews for two-guard minutes. This definitely comes as a huge blow for the Trail Blazers.

Meyers Leonard @MeyersLeonard11 Praying for a speedy recovery for @CJMcCollum ..Tough to have something like this happen to him. Such a good kid. He'll be back though.
Our next Elliot Williams?
Foot is a little different from knee, don't you think?
