Clippers trade CP3 to Rockets

What does this do, if anything, to our back courts position as top 2 or 3 in the league?

Does it really matter? Neither Dame or CJ get All-Star nods these days. Such a dubious honor when it never translates into anything useful on the court.

If we're now at a place in the NBA where you no longer can just have 3 stars, but need 4, who is Houstons 3rd and 4th stars?

In the future, historians will recall that the basketball lexicon was increased with the addition of the term "Flopcourt., e.g. "Houston has the best flopcourt ever created."

Wait so is a a man named Beverly going to live in Beverly Hills

The universe works in mysterious ways. Dear Clippers organization, One Jordan Hill is currently available as a free agent.

Beverly Berverly Hills Hill is a thing the universe wants. Don't fuck with the universe Clippers - or you will be cursed and be as successful as, the Clippers.

Well I didn't see this one coming. Thought Houston was just involved in more big rumors as always. I don't know why CP3 so badly wants to play with Harden. Harden is a great player but very ball dominant. Also don't understand it since Harden played better at PG. I don't think it will work but one thing that will work in CP3's favor is the spacing

Whoa. So apparently, the Knicks are buying out Melo who is going to sign with Rockets.

We can laugh but D'Antoni is going to thrive with Harden, CP3 and Melo on that team...Melo was built to play D'Antoni ball...I'd like to get Lou Williams from them

It's theoretically better--Harden is an excellent shooter, Paul is a very good one, and both have to be accounted for because even off the ball they could be the true initiator if the current action is a decoy. The question is how much better and whether D'Antoni will scheme creative enough sets to maximize their ball-dominant skillsets.

The worst case scenario is that they don't improve much on offense (because their skillsets prove to be redundant) and they get a bit worse on defense (Paul is a very good defender, but arguably not as good as Beverly) and there are tensions over the course of the season.

An under-utilized CP3 is still much better than Beverly and offense. And in my opinion, CP3 is a far superior defender.

Doesn't D'Antoni like constant ball movement? Melo is the opposite of that. Maybe his new team will change that?

I agree with you on Lou Williams.

He coached him to a gold medal...worked out pretty well along with Pop...CP3 and Melo together with Harden are going to be good in my view...Knicks didn't have those two with Melo when D'Antoni was there

So why did they hate each other so much in NY? Or am I remembering it wrong?

Stephen A. Smith is saying that if Anthony receives a buyout, he wants to go to Houston. But Wojnarowski is reporting that New York doesn't currently plan to buy Anthony out.

I would absolutely hate that trade.

I wouldn't. Although I wold rather trade Turner instead of Crabbe. And Meyers instead of Collins, plus a pick.

But....yeah, if the trade was Crabbe + Collins for Griffin, that would not break my heart.

Now imagine other fan bases talking about our team
I would be pretty hyped on Dame and CJ, what Nurk will become. What would happen if we added more talented pieces where as you already know what you get with Harden then add melo who is a volume shooter, CP3 who can still play at a high level but how would any of them fit together especially if melo goes to houston. Doesn't make sense and 2nd round exit at best especially with all the young talent they gave up

Dekker, Beverly are nothing

Houston gave up all this for CP3. I think this is the kind of move I wouldn't want to see my team make, you're just throwing all your chips in for the short term

Their depth is hurt but now the vet free agents will flock to Houston because it's Houston... and it's tax friendly.

They are all worthless. Beverley has value and Williams has some value, the rest is hardly worth anything.

Boy, I'll bet Jordan is happy about having been talked into coming back to the Clippers.

Harden and Paul is going to be an amazing backcourt.
I have my doubts that Hardon will be able to function without the ball in his hands 24/7...
