It'd be like someone who owns a broken down old Chevrolet (with bad tires, bad brakes, leaky transmission, busted radiator, warped camshaft and bent valve stems) cracking on someone who owns a broken down Ford with a misfire.

(Trump is the Chevrolet in my scenario).

BTW, just watched Ford vs. Ferrari. Really good movie.

It was Dems & Independents that put Trump in the Whitehouse.
Shouldn't happen again.

actually, it was the stupid fucking obsolete unjust electoral college

Hillary was a woman and a flawed candidate, but she got 3 million more votes

I am sorry, but it was people that DID vote for Trump or people did not vote because they believed the Russian propaganda that both were just as bad which put Trump in the white-house. Even if Hillary was a compromised candidate - anyone that believes or believed she would be as incompetent as Trump is deluding themselves. So, no, let's not rewrite history. If you voted for Trump and you lose your job or life or savings right now - it is not because of the Democrats.

https://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2020/03/26/cuomo_rising_biden_wandering_142770.html

......Cuomo’s rise is an unalloyed benefit for his state and the nation’s largest city, but it is not an unalloyed benefit for his party. To almost any sentient observer, it looks like the Democrats have picked the wrong guy to oppose Trump this fall. But the Democrats have painted themselves into a corner. They can’t simply stride out across the wet paint now that Biden has effectively won the nomination. He won it in open primaries, with settled rules, and there’s no way to change them.

Biden won’t offer the party an easy escape. He won’t suddenly renounce the prize he has sought his entire adult life. And even if Uncle Joe woke up with a horse’s head in his bed and backed out, Bernie Sanders would say, “Hey, I’m next. No cutting in line.” In that unlikely scenario, the Democratic Party would undoubtedly reject the hardline socialist at their convention in Milwaukee, but doing so would enrage his staunch supporters and fracture the party unity necessary to defeat Trump.

So why not nominate Cuomo for vice president and hint that Biden would step aside after one term? That’s certainly possible, but it risks a fatal head-on collision with the Democrats’ deep commitment to identity politics. A Biden-Cuomo ticket would be made up of -- gasp -- two older white men. Where is the woman on that ticket? Where is the African American? How exactly did they get pushed aside in a party that is built upon the rock (or is it sand?) of identity politics? Moreover, Biden has actually promised, in public and on tape, that he will select a woman for his running mate. Cuomo walks into the wrong bathroom.

For Biden to jettison his gender-based promise is more than a matter of flip-flopping. Politicians do that all the time and sometimes get away with it. That’s not so easy this time because the excluded groups get a say -- in November. They might not vote for Trump, but they might not vote at all.

This election will ultimately hinge on how the Democrats solve the vexed problem of Biden’s weakness and how Trump solves the twin problems of public health and economic reemergence. The Democrats will try to make it a referendum on Trump. The president will say, “Look at the alternative. Good heavens, just look.”

Democrats must be wondering, as Cuomo rises and Biden bumbles, how they will answer that challenge.

You've just described attorneys at large. ;)

Not sure which group was the attorney, but being one I will say that yes, we all like money (who doesn't?) but we take an OATH to "zealously represent" our clients. I can't get disbarred for being greedy, but I can get disbarred for not putting my client first, especially over money.

Trump spent billions of his own money getting elected. On top of that, he's turned down the $400k salary of POTUS. My guess is, if it were all about the money to him, he would have never ran in the first place.

Hilarious, given the money he is milking from the government to house his security detail in his hotels and the huge tax breaks he gave for companies and people in his tax bracket. You are a very funny guy.

agree..but it was blue dogs and independents in those states. Shouldn't happen again. I know herds of dems in Wisconsin that voted Tump because they couldn't stand Hillary. These are dems that work in factories, hang the flag proudly from rafters, ride Harley's and drink allot of beer. Most have a bad taste for anything left coast or NE.

thats is not true, totally. The dislike for Clinton swayed blue dogs and independents in the states of WI, PN, MI & Ohio.

No, he didn't spend billions to get elected.

That is fake news.

and those are the same people that supported Obama.

its ok to acknowledge where one went wrong, thats how to improve. Everyone and every organization has strengths and weakness thats the premise for an improvement plan. And yo don't want competition playing against your weakness. Its does'nt always have to be, they are 100% right or wrong thats a recipe for bad communication and & progress.

When Republicans elected, and blindly supported Trump, the bar was dropped so low they have no room to talk about any democratic candidate's foibles.
There’s always room to shit on politicians. Besides, this isn’t a low-bar contest. I thought Democrats were trying to improve the situation, not continue it.

well, technically they're trying to. Biden is better than Clinton was.

It was a simple Google search. I rarely go to that site, other than to occasionally look at polls.

Speaking of which, who is your trusted news source?

I think that is shortsighted. There have been many stories that he ran as a lark, a branding scheme, and never expected to win. After that, he never divested himself from his businesses as every other president has once in office. He's made a fortune personally being in office. Just look at his DC hotel for one.

But my main take was that he seems far more concerned about the economy - which is of course legit - than people dying. Not legit. He is a man who has no empathy. Surely you can see that?

bbc world news, npr/pbs news.

Yes, many of his accomplishments have been (and are) economy-related. Despite all the many hurdles he's had taking on the Democrats' incessant and partisan need to dispose of him, he's still been able to accomplish a few things:

  • Almost 4 million jobs created since election.
  • More Americans are now employed than ever recorded before in our history.
  • We have created more than 400,000 manufacturing jobs since my election.
  • Manufacturing jobs growing at the fastest rate in more than THREE DECADES.
  • Economic growth last quarter hit 4.2 percent.
  • New unemployment claims recently hit a 49-year low.
  • Median household income has hit highest level ever recorded.
  • African-American unemployment has recently achieved the lowest rate ever recorded.
  • Hispanic-American unemployment is at the lowest rate ever recorded.
  • Asian-American unemployment recently achieved the lowest rate ever recorded.
  • Women’s unemployment recently reached the lowest rate in 65 years.
  • Youth unemployment has recently hit the lowest rate in nearly half a century.
  • Lowest unemployment rate ever recorded for Americans without a high school diploma.
  • Under my Administration, veterans’ unemployment recently reached its lowest rate in nearly 20 years.
  • Almost 3.9 million Americans have been lifted off food stamps since the election.
  • The Pledge to America’s Workers has resulted in employers committing to train more than 4 million Americans. We are committed to VOCATIONAL education.
  • 95 percent of U.S. manufacturers are optimistic about the future—the highest ever.
  • Retail sales surged last month, up another 6 percent over last year.
  • Signed the biggest package of tax cuts and reforms in history. After tax cuts, over $300 billion poured back in to the U.S. in the first quarter alone.
  • As a result of our tax bill, small businesses will have the lowest top marginal tax rate in more than 80 years.
  • Helped win U.S. bid for the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.
  • Helped win U.S.-Mexico-Canada’s united bid for 2026 World Cup.
  • Opened ANWR and approved Keystone XL and Dakota Access Pipelines.
  • Record number of regulations eliminated.
  • Enacted regulatory relief for community banks and credit unions.
  • Obamacare individual mandate penalty GONE.
  • My Administration is providing more affordable healthcare options for Americans through association health plans and short-term duration plans.
  • Last month, the FDA approved more affordable generic drugs than ever before in history. And thanks to our efforts, many drug companies are freezing or reversing planned price increases.
  • We reformed the Medicare program to stop hospitals from overcharging low-income seniors on their drugs—saving seniors hundreds of millions of dollars this year alone.
  • Signed Right-To-Try legislation.
  • Secured $6 billion in NEW funding to fight the opioid epidemic.
  • We have reduced high-dose opioid prescriptions by 16 percent during my first year in office.
  • Signed VA Choice Act and VA Accountability Act, expanded VA telehealth services, walk-in-clinics, and same-day urgent primary and mental health care.
  • Increased our coal exports by 60 percent; U.S. oil production recently reached all-time high.
  • United States is a net natural gas exporter for the first time since 1957.
  • Withdrew the United States from the job-killing Paris Climate Accord.
  • Cancelled the illegal, anti-coal, so-called Clean Power Plan.
  • Secured record $700 billion in military funding; $716 billion next year.
  • NATO allies are spending $69 billion more on defense since 2016.
  • Process has begun to make the Space Force the 6th branch of the Armed Forces.
  • Confirmed more circuit court judges than any other new administration.
  • Confirmed Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch and nominated Judge Brett Kavanaugh.
  • Withdrew from the horrible, one-sided Iran Deal.
  • Moved U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem.
  • Protecting Americans from terrorists with the Travel Ban, upheld by Supreme Court.
  • Issued Executive Order to keep open Guantanamo Bay.
  • Concluded a historic U.S.-Mexico Trade Deal to replace NAFTA. And negotiations with Canada are underway as we speak.
  • Reached a breakthrough agreement with the E.U. to increase U.S. exports.
  • Imposed tariffs on foreign steel and aluminum to protect our national security.
  • Imposed tariffs on China in response to China’s forced technology transfer, intellectual property theft, and their chronically abusive trade practices.
  • Net exports are on track to increase by $59 billion this year.
  • Improved vetting and screening for refugees, and switched focus to overseas resettlement.
  • We have begun BUILDING THE WALL. Republicans want STRONG BORDERS and NO CRIME. Democrats want OPEN BORDERS which equals MASSIVE CRIME.

As I'm sure many of you here have heard a similar story: A boss once told me, "Don't come to me with a problem unless you can come to me with a solution at the same time."

The same applies here, sports fans. Are you really, "Anyone but Trump!!" I mean, really??

OK, well, be careful what you ask for.

Sounds like a solution to a problem to me

Your talking points need a bit of updating. As just one of many examples:

  • New unemployment claims recently hit a 49-year low.
New unemployment claims just today hit an all-time record high.

Problem? What problem? You do know his approval ratings are going up, right? :)

OK, obviously, that's not a tell-all sign, but it's certainly not hurting the man any.

Hey, bring MarAzul back. I could use some company. LOL

Well, yay, you for bringing relative and pertinent info. We can always count on barfo to continually step up his game!

The premise of my OP didn't involve Trump in any way. I was simply comparing Biden to a potentially emerging Quomo. I was very impressed with his speech on Sunday and believe he could (politically) kick the crap out of Biden. If the Dems scramble to create viability for his candidacy, it could become very interesting this summer....

No. It wasn't. Posters in here can't help but trot out Trump. I'm simply responding. Leave Trump out of the conversation, and so will I.

Trump is the problem and a big one

I didn't send MarAzul away. I cannot bring him back.
