Seeing the reaction to this, shows how fucked we are if a plague that could wipe out millions or billions ever came back.
The world is painfully unprepared.
Okay so we should probably curb the politics but that "Oil Prices" fluctuation has more to do with a price war caused by the Russians/Putin. Here is the thing. Putin knows the entire world is on edge. He knows the best way to bring Russia back up to relevancy is to hammer the US when there is a problem. The Coronavirus has set the stage for him to do just that. Even if it hurts Russia also. He figures to take everyone down and level the playing field on the economy front.I fear Trump will be more upset about this than actually focusing on the virus.
I wish.My company asking everyone to work from home indefinitely and restricting travel
Anyone else on lockdown?
I don't. As much as I applaud the proactive nature of the idea, I hate working from home.I wish.
Not yet, not yet, not yet.Buy, buy, buy.
And I hate commuting. Wanna trade places?I don't. As much as I applaud the proactive nature of the idea, I hate working from home.
My niece lives in Indiana. Her husband used to work there but now works in Chicago. My niece can't wait to get the hell out of Indiana. And I hate commuting. Wanna trade places?
Wait, I'd have to live in Indiana. Never mind.
With having a bunch of kids I find it really hard to concentrate at home. In theory, it's great, in practice it's not very productive most of the time.I don't. As much as I applaud the proactive nature of the idea, I hate working from home.
Whereas my kids are teenagers, so they spend most of the day at school, and basically avoid me when they're home. With having a bunch of kids I find it really hard to concentrate at home. In theory, it's great, in practice it's not very productive most of the time.
So... I don't really get why people keep trying to compare this to the flu, or car accidents, or whatever, and say, "X" many people die per year of these things. Only "Y" people have died of this so far, so, therefore, this isn't a big deal. I do tend to think there is a bigger deal being made of this than needs to be (it's hard to know what "info" out there is real or not), but these comparisons don't make sense it's apples to oranges. Were comparing something fairly "new", to something not new and not contained at all. Do they want this to get like the flu, where no one pays attention but 27-70k people die a year from it because it's not contained and stopped? If we could wouldn't it be great if when influenza started we could go back and contain/kill it off back then?
I think the "panic" and "fearmongering" aspect of this is over the top at times, but the "denial" and act like nothings happening seems just as crazy if not more crazy to me... We have the technology and know-how now to actually prevent and keep new virus' from becoming plague-like influenza is and has been why ignore it..?
This is the tweet that got flagged for misinformation
Well, the other side of this is, because it's "new" we really don't know what the numbers will even out to. The death-rate could drop drastically or go up drastically. Seems smarter as a society to do what you can to prevent outbreak until you have a better view of things. A couple of months of numbers isn't a long term view of it. What we have so far says it's lethal especially amongst seniors. So act on the information we have now, do what we can to contain it. Quit comparing it to "long term known" quantities because it doesn't make sense. Quit saying it's just the flu because it's not. I just don't get this desire to dismiss it... I've had this conversation all weekend as my parents (both well educated btw) are like eh who cares the media just needs a story. I'm just like ok, yeah lets ignore dangers and let them get worse that seems reasonable... /headdesk...It’s goofy logic to compare numbers of death between flu and covid-19. People point at the flu deaths to say that the Coronavirus outbreak is being over-hyped. All you have to do is consider two facts to realize that’s not true. First, the death rate is 10 to 30 times greater with covid-19 than currently circulating influenzas. Second, with flu we have effective vaccines that can prevent or reduce the severity of flu. That means the potential number of deaths that could result if covid-19 becomes widespread could be in the hundreds of thousands. There’s little hope of a vaccine sooner than a year or so, so we’re left with hand washing and social distancing to try to slow this. Yeah, flu sucks, but this has the potential to suck squared.
Misinformation is a nice way of saying "lies"All of his tweets have misinformation. They really should cancel his account.

Misinformation is a nice way of saying "lies"
He's a fucking liar who is going to be directly responsible for people dying.
Not yet, not yet, not yet.
Finally some of Trumpers are taking this seriously.
The Bible Says That There Will Be “Pestilences” In The Last Days
