And then your asshole neighbor cut them down.

That dude was crazy.
Thanks for reminding me of that total asshole. He actually physically assaulted my niece by pushing her hard until she fell backward into some blackberry vines. She came out all scratched up. My next door neighbor spent ten years in the Army rangers. I had to settle him down because while I was in the house taking a shower, he was in his yard right next to my yard watching the assault happen. Took both his wife and I to prevent him from beating this guy to death. He had blood in his eye. Actually the ex ranger was the nicest guy you ever met but he had a short fuse with assholes.

SERIOUSLY, THESE PEOPLE SHOULDN'T EVEN BE ALLOWED TO TAKE OUR FUCKING TEMPERATURE, LET ALONE TELL US TO BE IN LOCKDOWN

that apparently was NOT an official statement by WHO. It was one of their doctors who later came back and 'clarified' her remark

it's important to keep in mind there's a gigantic difference between asymptomatic and pre-symptomatic, even though they present almost the same. The latter can be highly contagious. Further, people can be asymptomatic for many days and then display symptoms and become contagious

it's also important to note that there are fewer asymptomatic cases than previously thought

"The big picture: The WHO is now relying on data obtained through contact tracing, said Maria Van Kerkhove, head of the emerging diseases and zoonosis unit.
  • “We have a number of reports from countries who are doing very detailed contact tracing. They’re following asymptomatic cases. They’re following contacts. And they’re not finding secondary transmission onward. It’s very rare."
  • In the press conference Monday, Kerkhove said there are fewer asymptomatic patients than previously thought.
  • "f you actually go back and say how many of them are truly asymptomatic, we find out that many have really mild disease, very mild disease, they’re not quote unquote COVID symptoms, meaning they may not have developed fever yet."

Between the lines: Don't treat these statements as a permission to treat a lack of symptoms as a "get out of social distancing" free card.
  • Infected people can be contagious well before experiencing symptoms.
  • "Some modeling studies suggest 40-60% of spread is from people when they didn’t have symptoms," tweeted Ashish Jha, incoming dean at the Brown School of Public Health.
Van Kerkhove later tweeted a statement that cited a June summary by the WHO on symptomatic, pre-symptomatic and asymptomatic transmission:

"Comprehensive studies on transmission from asymptomatic individuals are difficult to conduct, but the available evidence from contact tracing reported by Member States suggests that asymptomatically-infected individuals are much less likely to transmit the virus than those who develop symptoms.

"The bottom line: These statements are a reminder of just how little we understand about this virus.

Where are you getting this info? Just talked to my buddy in Scottsdale and he’s unaware of a problem in Phoenix.

certainly, Az is seeing a major spike in positive cases. Testing has increased, but at a very moderate level so the spike is real

as far as the hospitalizations, keep in mind that chart represents a rolling average of new hospitalizations. Considering that the time-frame of hospitalization runs from 7-25 days, that graph clearly shows that the hospitals could easily be at capacity. There were 7 straight days when they added 150 patients a day. That's well over a thousand and likely most of them are still hospitalized
