OT Coronavirus: America in chaos, News and Updates. One million Americans dead and counting

you are talking about group alignment....I brought them into the conversation....Trump rallies are also a form of group alignment
Well... I'm not a Trump supporter...
But yes I think that there is a lot of politics involved in COVID, the science, the reporting, how it's portrayed, what information we have. There are a lot of people heavily invested in getting out their version of the truth for political gain. That is literally why Trump for a while had to go talk to the media every day because he wanted to spin it his way. The BLM stuff is an entirely different topic for a different thread...

in other news there are people denying that choking out a black man by a cop is a bad thing that should require him being fired.....Kyrie Irving is also denying the world is round....Trump is denying he fucked porn stars....pick your poison dude.....you're on the wrong side of history here....get woke! Most spikes are related to l0osening of restrictions and precautionary measures....blaming protests but not swimming pool parties is sort of politicizing the thing with just one agenda...don't see you blaming kicking it on the beach

Loosening of restrictions is that...loosening. For the most part, there are rules, there are precautions. Its not the wild west like with the protestors being in groups of 40,000 all day yelling. Spaced out. Wear a mask in a store or a restaurant. That's how it is. That's how we are going to open the economy.

But when you have these fucking dumbfuck protestors going out burning cities, shutting down blocks and blocks with tens of thousands of people, everyone else who stayed inside, postponed their lives, missed graduations, missed funerals and saying goodbye to love ones are like "Fuck this bullshit".

Beaches have been spaced out. Pools have been spaced out. Rules for capacity at pools, stores, restaurants, etc are in place. Sure, the bars and clubs opening back is retarded too.

But the BLM protestors went in and fucked it all up by throwing caution to the wind. They normalized breaking the rules and everyone doesn't give a fuck any more and will do whatever the fuck they want. They seem the Mayor of LA, not wearing a mask, going in the middle of thousands of protestors taking a knee, while at the same time telling you that you can't cut your hair or hang out with your friends.

Let's all maybe take it down a notch, including myself. No need to throw out generalized insults and get so heated over our opinions. We can talk and disagree on certain things, but I think we'd all agree that the current situation of COVID and the world is not what any of us really, "want". @wizenheimer I'll cool off too, if you feel insulted by my posts let me know and I'll go delete stuff.

you haven't insulted me since maybe my 7th from last CJ post, and that was about 47% justified

I get insulted every once in a while, type a pissed off response, think better of it, and delete the most pissed of part...like I did a little earlier

So you think there's no difference in congregating with masks vs congregating without masks?

So, if we can congregate with masks on, we should be able to do whatever the fuck we want, as long as we have masks on? If we can cram 50k shouting, sweating, smelly people in a street with masks (for the most part), we should be able to go to a funeral or graduation or work or school or a trip, if we are wearing a mask.

CJ's the most efficient player in Blazer history. heh.
Does reading that sentence trigger you a little? Typing it kinda triggered me a little.

looters and lowlifes do not represent BLM and cops killing blacks gave them no choice....this was a powder keg you are insulated from...please refrain from watering down it's purpose and connecting it to criminals who used it to create chaos....many who were white supremacists

This. Let's chill it. We are grown men. We can have conversation that doesn't de-evolve into immature insults. That doesn't mean we have to agree.

Opinions are like lips and assholes, we all have them and they are all different. That's ok.

Common ground is a good guide in conversation. Even if you can't agree you can find common ground. Like Tortured pointed out, that common ground is that none of us want this virus around. We all agree it is fucking up our country, our economy etc.

That triggered you? You seem so passive about serious political concerns that I find that a bit strange

And you are the whole left party are you?

Lol.....

No one in the left does this? lol

Thats the epidome of head in sand. Sorry.

So I just want to be clear, as to avoid "insulting" anyone.

When I ask a question if no one else does this, leaving room for you to clarify, and then say that's the epidome of head in sand, how is this insulting you and saying your head IS in the sand if I provided a question for you to clarify first?

I think you got offended a little easily there.
But everyone has a different line to cross to feel insulted I suppose.

Anyhow, Ill try to walk lighter around your posts (even though I do not believe you've ever extended the same courtesy)

My intent wasn't to insult. It was to ask you to clarify and then giving my opinion that its head in sand to have a certain stance. I didn't say you had that stance as evidenced with my initial question....or so I thought.

I am amazed at times though with how abrasive some people here can be, but then are so quickly insulted when that same abrahsiveness is returned.

Anyhow, pissing off and moving on. ;)

It's called calm. I'm calm. It doesn't mean I don't have emotional reactions to things, it means I'm mature enough to most of the time handle them in my head without acting on them.

That's not at all what I asked, is it?

Sure, masks should help.

So if masks help, we can be more lax with social distancing, apparently. People are wildin' out with masks, and they seemed approved by the local government.

there's a bit of a difference between being more lax and being fucking stupid bro...you think the Texas and Florida pool parties and crowded beaches were "lax"?

look, I know you're highly cynical and sarcastic...and I approve since I am too, mostly
so I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt that you are aware that at no point in the equation:

dumb + dumb + dumber + dumber + dumbest = ? ......does ok or smart plug into this side of the equation. 2 wrongs don't make a right and 7 stupid ideas don't make a good idea

I don't think they were smart. But what, we are talking maybe 100 people?

Versus hundreds of thousands across the nation.

These protests should have been condemned and cracked down upon instead of celebrated. Its fucking bullshit in the middle of a pandemic.

These gun toting freedom maggots were dumb too. But they weren't very widespread. And the majority were against them anyway.

sharing a bathtub with someone is a bit more risky than sharing a sidewalk.....body fluids, y'know.....not even supposed to touch your face

Water is chlorinated. And again, economies of scale.

so condemn them...you have the right...but don't stop with them...condemn anyone who puts others at risk ...then talk with dviss about BLM and get back to me

Look, if things are allowed, then I'm going to go ahead and do it. Relying on the "experts" as to what I can and can't do. But I saw these riots and protests, and I was like "fuck it" going to Vegas.

We went down to about 204 the next day. Meanwhile, Texas was at nearly 6,000 in one day.

That is the difference between a governor who takes the virus seriously and one who doesn't. If Oregon had a republican governor, the cases would be sky high here because like in Texas everything would have reopened too quickly and it would have spread like wild fire.
