Yep. I’ve always enjoyed watching his show, even being so against my ideology. It’s sad that he calls more balls and strikes than our actual media. He's right on point!
Great news!
The University of Washington's Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) lowered its projection of total deaths from 68,841 (with an estimate range of 30,188 to 175,965) to just over 60,308 (with an estimate range of 34,063 to 140,381) in an update published Friday.
It’s an honest concern. I’m kinda on the fence as well. I’m just glad they aren’t projecting the 120-240k deaths a couple weeks ago. That would be a disaster.Hope that projection turns out to be accurate, but I'm concerned about what might happen if we let our guard down and reopen too quickly and/or stop taking proper precautions/distancing.
So it seems like this is kind of a decision point for the Reagan-era 'drown it in a bathtub' theory of government.
It's pretty clear the federal response is and is going to continue to be similar to gawking at a traffic accident: gee, that looks bad, but hey, not my problem.
If the states deal with the problem and the voters accept that the federal government has no useful role even in an emergency of this sort, that would seem to justify by extension the elimination of most federal government services. If the states/citizens don't need federal help in a pandemic, do they really need help with anything else?
Alternatively, maybe the refusal of the federal government to help in this crisis will catalyze a desire for a more competent and willing government, thus marking the end of the 'let's destroy the federal government from within' movement of the last 40 years.
I'd like it to be the latter, but if I had to bet money, I'd bet on the former.

I'm glad everyone's still taking this seriously!View attachment 30884
Florida beach is crowded within 30 MINUTES of reopening at 5pm, despite state recording 1,413 new COVID-19 cases - its highest one-day increase since the pandemic crisis began
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8229933/Beaches-Florida-start-reopening-EVENING.html
- Beaches in Jacksonville opened to the public at 5pm on Friday and beachgoers flooded the shore
- Socially distanced activities such as walking and biking will be permitted - but sunbathing has been banned
- Republican Mayor Lenny Curry said: 'This can be the beginning of the pathway back to normal life'
- Many slammed the decision with coronavirus cases still rising in the state, but others welcomed the move
- It also goes against Trump's re-opening recommendations that cases should have declined for 14 days
- Florida officials were criticized for not closing the beaches during spring break as COVID-19 cases spread
Dude, putting cams in my bathroom, especially during quarantine? Not cool.
Hope that projection turns out to be accurate, but I'm concerned about what might happen if we let our guard down and reopen too quickly and/or stop taking proper precautions/distancing.
Just to level set here
Trump laid out plans to reopen America with graphs and poster boards, with phases etc and said, again, the governors make the final decision. I watched and thought for the first time, this actually seems reasonable.
The following day he tweeted democratic run states to liberate their people and for one of them to also protect their second amendment.
He told the states to decide what to do and within 24 hours told them to open up. He is so mentally unstable it’s not up for debate.
Did you see those idiots in Jacksonville Florida in a state that hasn't even come close to meeting the federal guidelines. Beaches open at 5pm and these clowns rush the beach with no thought of spreading the virus.

4D chess!!!No no no, he's "a very stable genius", remember?
Agreed. Testing was part of the guidelines for stage 1, but I believe it’s based on the ability to test pockets of hot zones. And, the mitigation guidelines can go forward or back. If there is a spike, they would be required to go back a level.it still all pivots on testing levels, and we're still terrible in this country
making any policy decisions on a foundation of terribly inadequate testing is dumb as hell:

serious damper on their crotch sniffing and asshole licking though....although some humans have the same issue
