He has a place here outside of Redmond also. They could play in the Pavilion at the Fairgrounds. The Blazers use to play preseason games there.I'm sure he has a place there but he lives in Hillsboro.

At least until the Sonics come back, a G-League team in Tacoma makes a lot of sense. They have an arena the Blazers have used before and it's easy to get back and forth.
Eugene also works, assuming they could use Matthew Knight Arena. The airport there is big enough to fly in and out and the commute isn't bad if you have to drive it.
Also in the winter you don't have the black ice or weather you get further north down here in Eugene....having the largest university in the state is also good for ticket sales. I think Eugene is perfect...Bend doesn't have the population in my view and students turn up in Eugene for sports. I would want the revenue in state if it were my choice and Eugene and Corvalis are within 45 miles of each other so you'd get students from both the big schools. I'm completely biased because I would become a season ticket holder if they move to Eugene...takes me half an hour to drive to Mathew Knight Arena. At least until the Sonics come back, a G-League team in Tacoma makes a lot of sense. He said he did not expect to have a balanced roster at this point...

How exactly would that work since we are only allowed to have 2 players on the team under contract?
Seems like the whole G League is a farm system that all teams have access to.
The last two Duck games I went to had great attendance....same with the Emeralds when I went to see them..have to disagree about that but Corvalis has a hard time getting a crowd...not my experience in Eugene...they even turn up for track and field which is not a big draw most places. Boisie is not big enough...it's why they failed before...those gyms echo when you dribble a ball.As a Duck fan, I am not sure I want it in Eugene. I want the local residents to actually go to the U of O men's BB games first. And the students are not going to spend money/time to go to a professional game when they barely go to their school's game. (Although the women's team has a decent following)
Tacoma does not make long-term sense if the Sonics are coming back. Boise to me seems to be a smarter long-term move based on market size. Make this growing city Blazer fans instead of Jazz fans. It is a short flight
i would not underestimate the pettiness of Jody/Bert to avoid putting anything Blazer related in an arena named after Phil's late sonAlso in the winter you don't have the black ice or weather you get further north down here in Eugene....having the largest university in the state is also good for ticket sales. That would be a good alternative for sure. Name it Dame Dolla Arena.Put it in Oakland. Arena all ready.

I vote Eugene.
Exactly. Vulcan already manages it. They can lease 25 nights a year from the city to play when hockey games aren't happening. The Coliseum makes since.
Just curious, does anyone know how many of the teams have their G league team in the same town as the big team?
Joe Cronin.
Refreshing.
Intelligent.
Honest.
Vision.
I am all in with him and Chauncey.
Fair enough. Here's the thing... I love the guy from a personality standpoint, but he also has to be able to deliver. Some of his moves need to pan out before I'm going to be all-in.
Nope. I've said as much, many times.Mathew Knight Arena is top notch.
Did you?
A GM can only do so much in the NBA. Wins and titles are in large part determined by a handful of players, and it takes a lot of luck to get one or more of those players. Here's the thing... Fair enough.
But what you need to understand, is the NBA is 110% about relationships. That's it.
You said yourself, you like (love) the person.
I gotta believe, the rest of the league feels/will feel, the same, and after that clown (your avatar) that's been there, who was NOT liked, the Blazers
are somewhat "open for business" again.
IDK...just gotta believe good things happen to good people, and Mr. C. is "good people".

That is, as you admit, your perception.Cronin might be more likeable, which might make him more approachable for other GMs, buuuuuuuuut I'm also worried that other GMs perceive him as someone who can be taken advantage of.
