Dame asks for trade (And there it is) (1 Viewer)

The fact is that Woj was reporting today that unlike last off season when KD asked out and the Nets tried to and did convince him to stay a little longer... our front office doesn't want to do that with Dame. It's almost like they wanted him to ask out... or maybe by continuously telling him they would get more experienced but instead just getting younger and younger they forced Dame to ask out on purpose. I bet you if we had someone who could hack into the team's servers you would find a file called "Operation The Curious Case of Benjamin Button to get Dame to demand a trade". Just a hunch.

Shams and Chris Haynes should really get a nice bonus check for all the water they're carrying for Dame and Aaron Goodwin.

Shams still holding a minor grudge after getting dragged by Blazers fans that actually used their brain about his misreporting of the GPII/Toradol shot fiasco.

Dear Dame,

Just because it didn't work out doesn't mean you failed.

You successfully fcuked it up.
Yeah like he or his camp/agent saying only want Miami, thanks for doing that
Tough shit.
Gettin worse and worse, now it appears he may be starting to alienate cities and their fan bases - not a good look at all

It’s being reported that Jason Tatum is trying to recruit Dame to Boston. Boston just got a bunch of multiple second round picks from trading Williams.

I think it's "interesting" that we're not trying to get Dame to reconsider. Maybe that's because Joe was trying to push Dame to ask out the whole time. I just don't think Joe thought through the possibility that Dame would only put one team on his list and that's making it harder for Joe to do what he intended to do.
Did you ever hear the saying "too much water under the bridge"? LOL how bout a Pacific Ocean amount of water? Way too far gone for that IMO, bridges burned

We need to start an ABM Campaign. "Anybody But Miami".

In the end, i won't care if we get a sweet return but Miami won't/can't do it.

Might not be something quite as serpentine. Might have been as simple as they knew the odds were high Dame was going to ask out because the odds of getting the trade he wanted this time done.

Or maybe they were sick of Dame's song and dance every time they didn't give in to his wishes. All are possibilities.

The Heat have a lot more to lose for not getting a deal worked out. That doesn't mean the Blazers have a lot to gain by delaying things if a fair trade's proposed. From the sounds of things that hasn't been done yet. But dealing Dame out of the Western Conference and getting reasonable compensation is ideal. Dealing him to a team you wouldn't put over the top while both getting him out of the conference and stockpiling resources is everything you could ask for, and there's no reason to hold that up if you don't have to, it just appears the Heat don't have enough to trade back and instead of finding a way to compensate Portland they've put their chips into trying to win a PR campaign to force the Blazers to accept their terms while not gutting their bench and future assets.

Yeah I was being a little silly but your take here is dead on.

This. Dame flexing and making his whole persona and message for the last 11 years look like a fabrication.

Just consider that for a second: You've got the super-max. You're leaving an organization that even put your cousin on the roster for two years. You talked about wanting to win in Portland, not wanting to be on a super-team and not running from the grind and being no-nonsense -- but suddenly you want your former team gutted so your NBA finalist new team has a slightly better chance to win and you only will play for one team.

That sounds like the biggest diva move in the NBA in a long time, and that's saying a lot. It's also unprofessional. IMO, if Dame was traded to another contender, he wouldn't sit and pout, but this is a really bad look for his people to even suggest it. They must really think NBA fans all over the country will support him and the Blazers will cave as a result. Thing is, when you tell Celtics fans, Bucks fans, Sixer fans, etc. fans that their team isn't good enough for you, they have a lot less reason to be in your corner and to blindly believe the BS you're throwing out there.

I think the idea that this was a fractured relationship months ago and that Dame might have kind of grated on the Blazers with passive-aggressive demands might have not made them miss him.

All these talking heads talking about the Blazers "doing right by Dame" don't seem to realize that the Blazers appear to be trying very hard to "do right by Dame." The evidence of this to me is that Dame hasn't been traded yet. The Blazers appear to be bending into a pretzel to send Dame to the Heat. Why? Because they are trying to "do right by Dame," while at the same time doing the best they can for Blazers fans.

Thanks for sharing this! Seriously folks, if you want a national media member to stand up to the Heat propaganda machine face to face, this is the podcast for you! Holy mother. Howard was a professional about it, but every time those Heat honks tried to sell their side, he shut them down emphatically. It was beautiful.

Seriously, everyone NEEDS watch all three segments of this podcast.

Man, Ramil is a tool.

Yeah. Either Harvey Dent or Daenerys Targeryen on the final two episodes of Game of Thrones. It's the complete heel turn that you never ever saw coming because it made absolutely no sense. At least Two-Face was in a catastrophic accident that left his fiancee' dead and him hideously deformed.

There's been a rumor that a divorce is brewing between Dame and his wife, and its been going like that for a few months. Add to the other close friends who have died around him, I can totally see his strong desire to be in Miami. I don't think he did this knowingly a year ago @Natebishop3

I'm just theorizing. He couldn't get the super max if we traded him last summer, right?

Interesting. She's been absent from his socials for quite awhile. Even when he's with his kids you never see her around. Their tiktok hasn't been updated since last December.

Shes been off instagram for a few months too

Tinfoil hat: is nobody else suspicious that Dame stuck around so that he could sign the absolute highest salary he could get, and then as soon as he can traded, he now asks for a trade to a contender?
I don't think very many people are going to be into that theory because he could have asked out to a contender after the Olympics and been with his new team long enough to qualify for the same supermax extension from that team. I think Dame really loved it here and wanted to spend his entire career here. I think Dame thought that if he made it clear to Joe that if Joe kept going young Dame would ask out that there was no way that Joe would continue to go young.

I think it's really that simple.

Dame, you're kind of doing what I thought couldn't be done and really souring me on you.

It's legit making me sad he's being so inconsiderate to the organization. I get he feels maybe betrayed or lied to, but come on, this is the business side of it (which you can argue for dames attitude as well, I get it) but man...

This makes more sense. When people said his family was pushing for Miami, I was thinking to myself......why in the hell would any wife encourage her rich famous husband to move to Miami of all places? Way too many gorgeous women.

Yeah but I think once he made the decision to not seek a trade two years ago, he was stuck with us until...... now.
