What a HUGE marketing opportunity for the Blazers!!!

Don't Trade Damian Lillard!!!!!

Some Math:
Next Year Damian Lillard will make $45,640,084
SOP is to fine him 1/82 of his salary for every game he doesn't report.
That's $556586.39 he's fined for every game he misses.
For Home Games, imagine that 20,000 fans attend.
That's $27.82

So, you have a campaign that says
"Every time Damian Lillard misses a home game, fans get a fresh $20 bill, courtesy of Damian Lillard!!!"

"Go Blazers!"

Fans in the Rose Garden used to go nuts when they handed out Chalupa vouchers, imagine if they handed out 20's instead!

It will never happen, but it would be hilarious.

Half a million to play one fucking game and you're gonna be a bitch about where you go and ride coattails of the ECF, effectively torpedoing your brand.

I'm well beyond soured with him now.

Not me. The last thing we want is an owner who gets involved in these types of decisions. They are too arrogant and emotional. Sure there have been a few owners in the past that were good at it. Jerry Buss was great, but his kids were not. These days all billionaires have made their money in non-sports-related industries. Look around the league right now and tell me how many owners you would want to be involved. Hell, even Jordan sucked at it.
Man, I don't know. I deal with some pretty high-worth tech CEOs, and in general their strategy, vision, problem-solving, etc. are far above average. Dealing with agents? Please, not even worth the owner's time. Dealing with the CEO of the agency or advertising executives running companies the player is repping behind the scenes? Frankly, I don't want to hear from the owner, but only because I'm hearing from the capos underneath--the Godfather works in the background at levels the mortals don't get to see.

Or not.

For the quotes:

This is getting ridiculous and fuck dame for not saying anything. Silence is complicity.

Seems like he's surrounded by idiots.

At this point, I'm not feeling too good about this if I'm Miami.
This is very bad for culture and makes you think how he's going to behave if things gets rocky on your team.

Disagree. Getting ANY assets right now is why this is a good thing. Dame's value is going to get worse over the next several years. His salary is going to go up, and logically his production is going to go down.

How is it people are having it both ways?

If he was unrestricted people would say he's worthless.

If he's locked into a 4 year deal he's also worthless.

There's no winning and it's nonsense to say he isn't worth much. He's in his prime right now. Any contending team should give up the farm for him. I bet Boston would give up Jaylen Brown.

If Boston was offering that, the deal would be done.

I bet you they are. But Cronin is afraid of Dame and his agent. Why else hasn't Brown extended? They've been trying to trade him for ages and we've heard that Tatum has been trying to recruit Dame.

Goodwin is right. I don't even know this Dame anymore.

“I don’t think another team would do a deal like that knowing everything that’s going on,” Aaron Goodwin said. “But if they do, then they don’t know Dame.”

Forget rooting for him. I am going to actively root against this asshole. Gtfo.

Where are you seeing this?

Imagine making over $550,000 for playing 1 game. I mean, I would do it for 1/2 of that --- and then I would retire!

The Blazers, according to NBA sources, are seeking in the neighborhood of four first-round picks and two quality players.

This is the first mention of our asking price, also from the Fentress article.

Quality player is such a vague statement.

Starter?

Young promising asset?

Who even knows what that means.

What is the absolute worst team we can send him to? Are we basketball purgatory, or are there worse organizations?

Is keeping him in Portland and refusing to trade him the best punishment?
