Yeah, nothing new there. Other teams have been discussed about being involved in the deal, but won't be trading for Lillard because he won't play for them.

Riley needs to land Dame and land him now. The Heat have already alienated Herro and lost Strus and Vincent. It would not be advantageous for them to go into the season without this trade. At the same time Riley is trying to get Dame for the least he can because he also needs a full roster. He should have just traded us what we wanted to begin with, Jovic, Jaquez, Picks/Swaps, Herro traded for another pick, and I guess Lowry's expiring. He could have then signed some tailcoat riders for the minimum. Now, every day the free agent field is shrinking. Less players are available and it is making it harder for Riley to give up Jovic and Jaquez.

Yup. I think the main reason why we have the reports that there haven't been substantial talks is probably because Riley is offering us a totally garbage deal and Joe is telling him to piss off.

If Riley called up and said, "I'll give you Lowry, Robinson and three picks." I wouldn't even respond. I'd just hang up. But why does it feel like that's exactly what they're offering?

In other words, letting go of key pieces early like Strus and Vincent was a blunder or a plan that backfired?

Because that is likely what they are offering. But, Riley is the one who should be fretting. It's no sweat off Cronin's sack to keep Dame until a good deal is offered. The Blazers are rebuilding. There is no urgency on the Blazers part to make this deal.

Yup. And I wonder if that's why we haven't signed anyone else because if we stay under the luxury tax, it doesn't really hurt Jody at all to just let Dame sit.

Yeah, I understand that agents are exempt from tampering, but this shit should be investigated by the NBA. If Dame is openly instructing his agent to tamper, that shit isn't kosher.

It does undermine our rebuild a bit, if we wanted to move on from Dame and Nurk and had some young FA's we were interested in. But, the Blazers have nothing but time now after resetting the clock.
 
You will see Dame & agent submit a list of 3-4 locations that he will be good with.
Otherwise there is a good chance he goes somewhere else.
Dames agent is playing the Miami or busty card because Riley told him too for posturing. Riley thinks Joe is too nice a guy to not help Dame get to SB.
 
I consider myself a big Dame fan. I’ve always liked how he handled his game, his ego and his loyalty. What concerns me is we are seeing a completely different Dame. Demanding where he plays telling teams he’s going to sit out if traded there and basically screwing Blazers in any kind of trade leverage. Lost some respect and to be honest worried he was bullshitting us all along. I hope this ain’t the case easily one of my top 3 Blazers.

And please don’t say he hasn’t said anything…. Dame has approved everything his agent is saying
