So what will come out at some point soon, thought today, was that the Blazers are operating on the assumption Dame will be back to start the season

So are they just ignoring his trade request and they're going to make him stay?
That's what I have been hoping for.So what will come out at some point soon, thought today, was that the Blazers are operating on the assumption Dame will be back to start the season
I'm not so sure Cronin wants to trade Dame.that seems realistic at this point
the way Dame and his agent handled the first week or two of this situation cratered Dame's trade value for the rest of the league besides Miami. And Miami, if reports are accurate, spent way too much time trying to low-ball the Blazers and essentially steal Dame for 30% of value because they thought they could steamroll a rookie GM
I'm sure Portland would prefer to trade Dame, but they sure don't seem inclined to trade him for a shit return
I'd rather have Dame be "injured" for 4 years than get screwed in a Dame trade.I don't believe for a second that Portland wants to keep Dame. They simply do not want to give him away for shit. I expect the league to try to get involved. They do not want another Sprewell situation where the team just sits the player. He wasn't allowed at the practice facility I believe. I think an arbitrator ruled GSW had to play him or something and then they quickly traded him. Lillard will fein an injury before playing for the Blazers again. There is no happy ending unless Dame is shipped out.
We didn’t get anything for LMA and it massively set us back. And that was for the same reason. A GM that refused to move him. I’m not entirely sure how much value Dame has anymore, but we can’t afford to get nothing for him and the clock is ticking.I'd rather have Dame be "injured" for 4 years than get screwed in a Dame trade.
Fuck that bullshit. Give 'em hell Cronin.
Thank you for helping me solidify my feelings on this. I keep listening to people on the radio and podcasts and reading articles about what might happen with Dame and until just now it never occurred to me that it was boring. It's like one of those critically acclaimed movies you really wanna like cause other people say it's good. I want it to be intriguing or exciting or whatever. But it just isn't. I'm gonna buy a few books and not pay attention to any of this until I'm done reading those. The word boring gets overused, and I've said this before, but this Dame saga, everything about it, him, his agent, Cronin, Miami, the rumors, his tweets and IG posts, even his marital status stuff, it is all phenomenally boring.
Getting screwed in a Dame deal doesn't help us much more than losing him for nothing. We didn’t get anything for LMA and it massively set us back. And that was for the same reason. A GM that refused to move him. I’m not entirely sure how much value Dame has anymore, but we can’t afford to get nothing for him and the clock is ticking.

Dame will play ball once we call his bluff.
Does that mean Blazers will start filling out their 3 open roster spots soon?So what will come out at some point soon, thought today, was that the Blazers are operating on the assumption Dame will be back to start the season
From a pretty well placed person, they understand the trade request. They want a young proven player and picks. Honestly, IMO, if Herro were a forward, this would probably be done.So are they just ignoring his trade request and they're going to make him stay?
No idea. I’m the farthest thing from an insider. Just call me Sodapop.Does that mean Blazers will start filling out their 3 open roster spots soon?
Well, I’m happy that they’re not settling for an underwhelming Miami deal and hopefully they can figure out how to incorporate Dame while they wait for more interest as camps and the start of the season shakes things out.So what will come out at some point soon, thought today, was that the Blazers are operating on the assumption Dame will be back to start the season
I have been defending Dame like crazy but even this post has given me pause cause maybe he could have made more money in endorsements in a bigger market but he sure as hell is not broke. I really hope he is trolling the haters right now or something but even I cannot defend that tweet IF he means it.
Then he can stay home. I'm not interested in helping propagate this Harden/Kyrie bullshit.I'm not sure at this point. He's turning himself into Kyrie. One more drunk tweet and I don't want him in our new, shiny locker room.
...it's a J. COLE song lyric and he is likely not referring to money, but rather championships, when talking about being "broke"![]()
This all sounds good to me. I hope this is where their head is.From a pretty well placed person, they understand the trade request. They want a young proven player and picks. Honestly, IMO, if Herro were a forward, this would probably be done.
He could be talking about being broken as a person, even aside from championships....it's a J. COLE song lyric and he is likely not referring to money, but rather championships, when talking about being "broke"![]()
I've wondered about that too. What will his reception look like?Who is going to be the 5th starter announced at home games if Dame is still on the roster? Who will Mark Mason shout out with the video splash? That's going to be a reality check for Dame if it happens because I don't see them trotting him out in that spot given the circumstances.
I'm not so sure Cronin wants to trade Dame.
Cronin might be thinking if the team starts the season well, that Dame will be OK staying in Portland.
If Dame is here they'll hype him up like he'll retire a Blazer. As long as he's willing to be professional and play while he's here. And I have no doubt he will be a pro if it comes to that.Who is going to be the 5th starter announced at home games if Dame is still on the roster? All the Blazers need to do is give meaningful roles to Scoot and Sharpe and win more games than they lose to start the season, and (almost) all will be forgotten. If Dame is here they'll hype him up like he'll retire a Blazer. As long as he's willing to be professional and play while he's here. And I have no doubt he will be a pro if it comes to that.
Treating Dame with a lack of respect would be insane and defeat the whole purpose of hanging on to him to get good value.
The LMA situation is apples to oranges with the Dame situation. LMA never requested to be traded. He played out his contract and decided to move on. Ironically he decided not to re-sign with the Blazers because he was butt hurt that Dame was becoming the #1 option over him and he wanted to be the face of the franchise. We didn’t get anything for LMA and it massively set us back. And that was for the same reason. A GM that refused to move him. I’m not entirely sure how much value Dame has anymore, but we can’t afford to get nothing for him and the clock is ticking.
