Dame asks for trade (And there it is) (1 Viewer)

Sharpe posterizes Dame in the dunk contest and has it printed out right there, signs it, and hands it to him.

Could we see it?

Imagine if it happens this year (in game)… How are you going to feel?
Depends if the Blazers win the game. That's all that matters to me.

If we are exciting they will pump us up. When we drafted Dame is was the same way: first we were exciting to watch, then we were a team on the rise, then analysts focused on Dame then they started telling Dame to leave us lol

I don’t know if that sort of attention is what we want right now.
The reality is that in the social media era they are going to pressure any star that lands in Portland to leave. It is not a "sexy" market.

This is no different than it was 20 or even 30 years ago. Everyone wants players to go to Miami or New York or LA. This has never changed.

That goes for any city. Harden left big market Houston. went to big market Brooklyn then Big Market Philly. Now he wants out of Philly.
Doesn't matter where the good players are.

I’m calling it now. Cronin—the most inept GM in the NBA—won’t be able to make a deal with any of the teams Dame is interested in, so Dame will move into his new house and finish his career in Portland.

Is Chicago a sexy market?
I’ve never been to CHI

Doesn’t make sense to talk bad on somewhere you’ve never been.

I’m trying to qualify saying that if Dame would rather be in CHI than POR we should make sure the dude is okay and not under some Space Jam like influence.

You hear good things about the deep dish pizza, but I prefer New York style. If you like crime… Maybe Morant wants to go
to the Bulls.

The stupidity of the Blazers is mind-boggling. Why would you sign Grant to a $160 million deal unless you knew for sure that Lillard was staying?

Maybe they thought he was? Maybe Dame saw Miami losing FA in the market. Hell, at this point, i dunno. We may not even trade the dude but not sure how that would work out at this stage

So you can trade him and not lose an all star for nothing.

Yes. Good steaks, the aura of Jordan… it’s fading but 10 years ago? It was still hot shit
Now it's a hot mess. They just re-signed their 32-year-0ld center.

They traded away Wendell Carter Jr, the pick that became Franz Wagner, and the pick that became Jett Howard to get him.

Thank heavens Cronin didn't go down that road.

I would rather see Dame go to the Nets than go to the Heat. At this point I’d still root for him if he was traded to any team other than the Heat (or Lakers).

My philosophy has kind of come to this:

I'm not mad at Dame for asking out. It was coming, the moves the team made were headscratching and were contradictory to what they were telling him. That'd piss me off to no end no matter how much money you gave me. Dames perspective changed with family and close friends passing away tragically in a very short amount of time. That takes a toll on a human being. And like Dame said, it made him feel mortality. Perspective changed. So it makes sense why yesterday happened.

That being said, him trying to dictate where he goes, to me, is a bridge too far. This miami-or-bust nonsense is crap. Dame knows this is a business, a business in which the team needs to do what's best for the team. Now, I can understand that dame has first hand knowledge that the team has shown they didn't do the best by dame and the team. But to try to fuck us on the way out, knowing Miami doesn't have the trade assets that will best help us, and really not trying to give us the opportunity to entertain other offers is low. Hopefully Joe calls that bluff.

"But Dame did everything for this organization" and to that I say, he just told us he's leaving so now we need to do everything for this organization post-dame for this team. If he's leaving, we only owe it to us to help this team with his trade value. That's it and that's all.

Guys, how long will it take to trade Dame?

Do you think it will happen quickly or will it take all summer?

People mad about the team not doing all it could to keep Dame will be happy to know the team instead made moves to make the team better after Dame leaves. He’s been making his loyalty conditional for years. The team called his bluff, and only from this point on will we see who Dame actually is.

There is no reason to blow the whole thing up, and he is a nice piece to play with Scoot/Sharpe/Ant. Hell, it may turn out that Little can stay healthy and Murray can be a 3&D guy and they cover the three. So many unknowns and young guys...Let it bake.

Also…Let’s face it, Dame was the reason analysts talked about the Blazers for so long.

We will fall so quickly into national irrelevancy that people will forget we exist.

Expect to be rated poorly by those in the sports world.

Not necessarily a bad thing.

Honestly. Got a taste of it, didn't like it. Let us cook and they can come begging like the stupid fucking idiots they are.

Considering the circumstances, would anyone be upset with this package? I was watching a Nets video where their guys were interested in being the third team that takes Herro.

Lowry expires at the end of the season, Simmons the following season. I wouldn’t be mad at that package.

Don't really understand the urgency to trade Nurk, unless we're getting another center in return. He's starting caliber center, on a decent contract. Our team is already super small. Nurk can at least rebound, play the pick and roll, is fairly skilled offensively, decent paint protector. He looked good playing with our rag tag team during our tanks.

To be a starter you actually have to not be injured.

Not crying after every shot you make would help too.
