Thats why I differentiated market size and product produce.

You can be in a small market size with high market share. Or large market and small volume.

I don't see why we shouldn't be getting both. We're giving up a hall of famer and we're quibbling about role players and late 1st round prospects? Go fuck yourself Cronin and Miami.

Exactly......
I would say Wolves and Kings have been good, now they could be considered better. The best segment is only maybe 5-7 teams out of 30.
 
What is the purpose of getting back great players? To lower our draft position? To take time away from our young guys? To become overpaid salary anchors before we’re ready to compete? Is it because it’s best for the team or is it because people don’t want to look like cucks?

Charlotte went after him despite his medical history. Anyone with even a little NBA knowledge knew this was a bad deal at the time, but Charlotte went for it because they're Charlotte and they can't get a big name in a different way.

I do agree that getting rid of contracts like these is not always a slam dunk, but there are opportunities with desperate teams at times.

We have to take back salary (unless we trade with SA) so I am fine with it being someone who helps our D
Simmons and Grant would not be a bad frontcourt to go with our young backcourt.

The issue small market size can have against larger market competition, in order to thrive and survive they live on shorter margins by earning try to offset with volume. Can be very dangerous as cost of doing business can be much higher as well.

You either overpay (import tax so to speak) for above-market assets, or you manufacture your own. We have always done better with guys we drafted as the main core. Five of our top seven players on the 1990 team were draft picks. Only Duck and Buck were acquired. I think this is the way to go.

for sure, and thats another reason I like companies that are de-centralized versus centralized. My experience with consolidation into larger d-c companies kms the first thing they do is cut cost of business and allow the smaller markets to not provide a more personal touch/service/prod availability.

This is great for the NBA, but customers in the small market not being told that they are effectively a feeder for larger markets might understandably become bitter.

When is this gonna be over, I honestly feel like the anticipation leading up to a shitty compensation package might be worse than the idea of trading Dame. I really hope Joe is doing what he says he is.

But it wasn’t just Minnesota.

They got a good haul for Mitchell from Cleveland.

Brooklyn got a good haul for Durant from Phoenix.

Houston got a good haul for Harden.

We will get the worst haul for arguably the best player of that bunch.

I’m in no way saying Scoot will be better or worse than Dame…. Players progress differently…. They will certainly be different in their games…. But if Dame was doing what Scoot was doing at 17-19, he wouldn’t have gone to Weber State, he would have not gone to college for four years, etc. I love Dame, I wish he’d rescind his trade request, but Scoot is a legit baller and I’m sorry not sorry for being excited he’s a Blazer.
 
If we have to trade with Miami and we don’t get back Jovic, Jaquez, and hopefully Martin, I’m going to be firmly on the “fire Joe” bandwagon. There’s no excuse. They don’t have picks. We are handing them arguably a top 5 player. He would instantly be their best player. Fuck Miami.
