Dame asks for trade (And there it is)

Which, to me, makes it MORE notable. He's in town. He has been at the PF. The entire team goes on a outing and he doesn't go along?
i dunno why you find this shocking. not really a secret that he's getting traded.

And I think the PHX deal is probably mostly done.

I didn't say it's shocking. I said it's notable. There has been a lot of smoke about Ayton, but it's not done.

getting whooped with mediocre, now just plain bad Blazer rosters over and over again for 10+ years can change a person.
Similar to LeBron tired of losing to KG/Pierce/Allen. He was like, I’ll never win without help

Ayton being traded to Portland would surprise me after what Vogel said and what the new owner has done.
It’s not a big topic here in AZ. Ayton would be better off with a new start, IMHO — either Indiana (via Portland) or with Portland. PHX needs depth on the bench for their all-in, win-now gambit.

Depth....is the big thing for them. Nurk would be fine there and wouldn't be demanding shots (that he wasn't going to get anyhow) because of the presence of Durant and Booker. Also, he is a menacing pick for the P&R. The added pieces they would get would be valuable. Ayton is better than Nurk.....but that isn't really what they need.

I'm curious about the "added pieces" Phoenix would be getting. Nurkic obviously. But who else and assuming Portland was paying the freight, what player(s) would be diverted from the Dame trade to Phoenix? OG? Trent? Porter?

Either Nas or Thad Young

I just wanted to make sure that everyone was aware (as I'm sure most of you are) that this is a comment about the Raiders and has nothing to do with the current situation between our Blazers and Dame.

Well, the Raiders best player (Adams) doesn't play defense either. The 'genius' coach is a hack, the QB is a fraud, and the running back's strategy to sit out all of training camp has backfired in a big way.

Has anyone ever done what Dame is doing now? Request a trade to only one team while under contract for 4 years.

I have never heard of a request to one team like this. Certainly trade requests with varying number of years left on a contract have been requested, but at best the request is a winning situation. Very ballsy. Every time I see a Dame commercial I look away now. Don't want to see or hear him.

It's my understanding that KD just did the exact same thing last off season. He requested a trade to the Suns and had four years left on his contract. He didn't get that trade until midseason but he did do what Dame is currently doing.

A little different, his list was two teams, PHX or the Heat.

Just send Dame/Nurk & Simons to Miami for Adebayo & filler.

I get the feeling theres another darkhorse team that we haven't discussed.

Milwaukee.

We'd have to send Jrue somewhere else. I think Orlando makes sense there.

Thinking of a 4 teamer with Holiday going to ORL, picks and stuff coming to POR. Combine it with the PHX thing and send Ayton to POR with Fultz going to ORL.

If the Cavs had stuffed 10 rookies on the team, then bragged about LeBron winning a championship with all these kids, nobody would have been upset with James' "decision" to get the hell out of Cleveland.

James was a free agent. He didn't sign an extension the summer prior fully knowing what the team was upto.

Cavs went 61-21 prior to LBJ's decision.
A pretty dang good team.

Blazers went 33-49 prior to Dame's trade request.
Stinking for Scoot

Comparing LeBron's decision to Dame's trade request, is putting a 2010 contending NBA team, next to a cellar dwelling 2023 full rebuild effort.

People were mad because LeBron screwed the Cavs out of a TON of trade assets. If James wanted out, he could have asked at the trade deadline or season prior. James left Cleveland wallowing in the mud.

The Blazers are already wallowing in the mud, telling Lillard to be patient with even deeper mud on the horizon. Lillard asked to be traded, the Blazers will get some picks and future assets after the trade. It's a difficult situation, but not a raging jersey burning party.

According to reports, Bam is half the reason Dame wants Miami. So, if true, ain’t no way Miami is trading Bam for Dame.

Anyone else feel like we're just getting dick teased with all these rumors about the Raptors, only to have him dealt to Miami for the same old shit?

setting aside what may or may not tease your dick...yuck buddy...

my guess is that Ujiri was only engaged to see if he could steal Dame without giving up either of Barnes or OG
