neil olshey has done his job really well, blazers have been relevant team for years and people dont want to hear it, but being a playoff team and having a packed arena is what vast majority of owners want, thats money right there
if youre small market team like portland, its really tough to contend for a championship as you cant attract big free agents, so the only why to contend is to build a contender through draft and trades, which is not easy at all, if anything, its really hard, otherwise every team in the league would contend... unless you hit big in the draft with multiple players like san antonio spurs or golden state warriors, or draft generational talent or youre a big market, desirable city to live in like los angeles or miami or new york, the best you can hope is being a playoff team and like i said, about 85% owners are happy with that... just a little reality check
