Not that I’m calling for a Dame trade but HYPOTHETICALLY what would be the best compensation from Miami or Brooklyn?

Best guesses?

Miami has shitty assets for a Dame trade...real shitty

Brooklyn's are a bit better but it would essentially be just dumping Dame for maybe Claxton and 3 or 4 first's 4 to 7 years from now

I want to make something clear -- in my 1st post I stand by what I said but going to expand on it a little now. I realize this is a tough choice and for me it's kind of easy but I can live with it even if it blows up in the Blazers face and that's keep Dame. I want to make it clear I am not attacking anyone who thinks we should even if it sounded like it cause I can see a case where you feel this even if I hate it and want to see Dame retire a Blazer. The one thing even if we all have differing opinions on how we should make this team better is this is the summer that could shape the future of this franchise for the next 3 to 5 maybe 10 years so there really is no right or wrong answer even If I have come off of late like I might know it all cause we both know that's BS this is just my fandom talking.
There will be a right or wrong answer when we see how Miller and Scoot develop in the coming years.

The Brooklyn package might be very appealing when the NBA enters the shaedon domination era...

Not that I am advocating for such a move

Shit from Miami... not even trying to exaggerate, it would be totally shitty. Herro, fucking filler and sparse bullshit picks.

Brooklyn could give us a ton of picks that could be really valuable in two years when Beal and Durant are totally washed. They could conceivably send us Simmons who could conceivably turn his career back around but at the very least has a contract that runs out season after next. Or just expirings from Dinwiddie and Harris. If we were smart we would insist that Dame would take Nurk with him and we would get Claxton. Also despite many saying it wouldn't happen, the Gobert trade from last year tells us that we could get the draft rights to the guys the Nets pick at 21 and 22 if we wanted them.

That being said, let's build a contender around Dame, Zion, Jerami and Shaedon... please?

Now that Trent has opted into the last year of his deal, Toronto could conceivably include his salary as part of a deal for Dame.

Would Barnes/Achiuwa/Koloko/13+future picks be an acceptable amount of youth/ assets to receive in exchange for Dame (if the F/O were to want to go that route)?

Would love to get Barnes…

If Dame leaves, it won't be to Toronto. More likely than not that we trade him to a team he wants to go to like the Nets. Raptors won't even be in the discussion, but Barnes, Koloko, and Achiuwa are all players I would love.

Yeah, probably. They weren't one of Dame's destinations so I would still be shopping in the Nets' pantry to figure out what the Dame return might be but I wouldn't be mad at this... just really sad. I really wanted to go all in on Dame and still do. I'll be forever pissed at Joe that he never did what he said he would and put a competitive team around Dame and fuck the answer that maybe the trades weren't there because there had to be some trades that made us better than we've been and gave Dame a chance.

All of this may be premature and maybe we'll have a Zion announcement very soon but it's looking like the end of the Dame era and that's a shame because he's the classiest superstar this game has ever seen.

Dame will be Blazer at least through end of his contract.
I hope you're right but the aloofness of his most recent interview has me worried. I think if we're keeping Scoot there's no way that you're right.

I think if Dame had requested a trade it would come out from Woj or Haynes or someone else highly placed. Not this random dude lol.
Agree… just seems like a lot of followers to damage your reputation if this is false

as mentioned...Dame is in France right now on a vacation with family and was last seen wearing a Blazer jersey. How credible is it he asked for a trade from France and some guy nobody has ever hear of is the one breaking the story?

Hey,. he got people to retweet. Isn't that their sole purpose in sports reporting today?

It’s his favorite shirt bro. Haven’t you ever kept a company shirt???

I think most likely this guy has a confirmed source that we are drafting and keeping Scoot and already had confirmed sources that if we draft and keep Scoot Dame will ask out. Or he's full of shit. So either he's being a bit presumptuous or he's full of shit. In any case I think he's trying to get in front of a pretty obvious story if he's confirmed that we are drafting Scoot.

I don't know how anyone believes anything right now though because the whole keeping Scoot thing might still be just to drive up value in trade talks that are ongoing. We've still got 30 hours give or take before we'll be on the clock. Waiting to see.

do you think maybe if you say the same thing 28 more times in this forum it will come true?

Thanks and all but if you don't like what I'm posting feel free not to read it. If Dame is going or if we are making some (in my opinion) boneheaded mistake for the umpteenth time to try and pair him with a guy who should be playing PG that gets me riled up enough to be a bit repetitive.

I suggested this before but if for some reason we do trade Dame I think a 3 team trade would make sense. Miami gets Dame, Brooklyn gets Hero and Duncan and we get a shitload of draft picks from both teams. Brooklyn does it to dump Simons contract and still adds some decent players with smaller contracts. We do it for the draft picks and maybe big maybe Simons turns his career around with young team where he has no pressure.

shitty trade???

OKC started THREE point guards in 2019-20 and got the 5 seed.

I think they will draft Amen before Scoot....If we did Draft Scoot it would be for a trade and/or Dame signed off on it especially if we trade Simons.

I understand all that, but the thing is you do not know if Dame will ask to be traded because Portland is taking Scoot. It may happen, it may not. We simply don't know what Dame will do

in fact, we don't even know yet if Portland will draft Scoot

yet, as I said, you have reached the conclusion that Portland is definitively drafting Scoot and that means Dame is definitely asking for a trade. And are saying those two things are done deals, over and over. You may be right, but I sure can't see how you can be so certain
