Trade Dame to Milwaukee

Positive first impression. Biggest thing is I like betting against Milwaukee's future vs Miami's.

We'll see what happens to Jrue. I like his fit honestly and argue a better mentor for Scoot than Dame. Likely flipped though. Hard to grade trade until this shakes out.

Not an Ayton fan but he's a slight upgrade on current Nurkic imo and obv the timeline fit and room to improve is a plus. Playoffs in 21' and 22' as 22-23 year old were impressive.

Camara looked intriguing in SL and Suns fans were excited about him. Interesting statistical profile in college with nice forward size.

Overall I'd give it a B with upside depending on Jrue situation.

Is it weird that I dont hate Dame as much now because he's going to Milwaukee instead of Miami? Like Im still annoyed he tried to strongarm us, but im not as annoyed because maybe it didnt work? I dunno, im in my feelings so I'm working through it.

It's exactly how I feel bro. I'm excited because I can cheer for Dame now and the Lillard Method was never a thing! I love it!!!!! The return is Meh depending on what we can get for Jrue, but still, I feel the Schadenfreude for Miami and killing that Bush League trash is worth at least 3 FRP's and probably some swaps too! Also, hard to put a price on being able to root for Lillard again!

What are we feeling about our team going forward? I can finally get excited going into next season, not gonna be contenders but it's Blazer basketball, nothing better
It's a brand new team with some very skilled players most of which haven't hit their prime.

Yes. Unprotected pick swaps especially in those years are really valuable

Im struggling to find out how people are seeing this as a bad trade. ESPECIALLY considering we can still extract some value from Jrue. And these picks that far out after Giannis/Dame are done and past their prime (Well dame maybe more so than Giannis, but wh0 knows)

I think, all things considered, this is more than a fair haul for a bloated contract like Dames.

Agree on all but a meh trade. I think the unprotected swaps are going to be so valuable and those hit in the middle of Scoot and Shae's prime. (Obviously TONS can change, but we dont know, so the natural logic can play here).

It's not that he's unappreciated, it's that he's 34 years old and we're on the hook for him for $70MM over the next two years.
Obviously he's going to get traded and its not like we need cap space right now. Again Riley and Miami and Goodwin all got boned as is in alignment with the Divine Law of Karma!

I just don't see how pat would want to work with cronin after losing dame.
Would be a rookie move by Pat to elimate a team from possibly helping them get a nice PG.

If I were a GM, there is nothing another GM could do or say that would allow me to turn down a future good deal with them.

Wonder why people seem to dismiss the value of it.

Seems to me like this is a good deal for us

We downgrade from Dame to Jrue
We upgrade from Nurk to Ayton
We let go of Nas Keon and we get a rookie, 1FRP and 2 swaps

I feel like this is a win for all 3 teams. I hope we can get good value for Jrue.

I made this happen. I knew as soon as I went on vacation Lillard would get traded.

I literally just got into my room after flying all night and a little town called in the middle of Yucatan.

Yeah I hadn't thought deeply about it. I think those could be good I agree. I was sorta in shock the Bucks weren't on my radar at all. I also felt my heart feel love for Lillard again, which was shocking. Lots of emotions.

The Yucatan Peninsula?

This is another intangible benefit of this trade, we stuffed Riles for all to see and crowned an Eastern Champion in arguably the greatest FUCK YOU in Sports trade history. Amazing. Cronin has quite the set on him!

Yeah im working on them in real time but those seem to be the two dominant feelings:

1) Happy for the trade and the haul back

2) Grateful that Dame gets a real shot at a title on a team I actually dont mind winning a championship.

oh sorry, and 3) FUCK MIAMI.

Portland will receive Jrue Holiday, Deandre Ayton, Toumani Camara, Milwaukee's 2029 unprotected first-round draft pick, and unprotected Milwaukee swap rights in 2028 and 2030, sources told Wojnarowski.

When it comes time to cash in on these picks, Giannis will be 34 and Dame will be 39....

I'll wait until 2030 to grade this trade!
