Plot twist. In trade talk with Brooklyn about Dame, Cronin acquires Bridges instead, Dame rescinded his trade request.

I'm cool with going young. However, you cannot have a roster filled with nothing but young guys who don't understand the NBA. I said it in another post, but we need to fill the back end of our bench with veteran pros. We need people who understand how to deal with the money, the women, the hangers-on, how to prepare for a game, how to stay in shape, etc. I just watched an interview with Dame who cited Earl Watson as a huge part of his success, simply because he taught him about the NBA. We need about 3-5 Earl Watsons.

This may sound mean but I'm kinda ticked.

The Grant overpay had "keep Dame happy" written all over it. Dame waits to Grant gets his then asks for the trade.

Trade him to whomever has the best package and personally, I don't care if they are a contender or not.

I feel like he waited and, to a degree, and stuck it to the team (and got his friend a great payday). Where is the concern for the team? He didn't seem to display a lot of that so why should I care where he goes.

We could probably have had at least one more pick in this draft if he had just agreed to be traded before the draft.

Yep, kinda pissed.

Don't know. We have 5 second-round picks though.

I think we need to be VERY CAREFUL with whom we bring into this organization. Dame was a pro, who worked hard and set the tone for the youngsters. We've heard noises about how Shaedon isn't the most mature kid and doesn't make the best choices. I don't know about Scoot. We need someone who will command the respect of the locker room and set an example for the players. We no longer have the luxury of bringing in talented headcases.

This is where I've landed...Dame after the fact destroyed any leverage Joe had in the trade market in my view when he singled out destinations. That alone would make a front office draft his eventual replacement.

And guys doing what Hersey Hawkins used to as Player Personnel Director (I think that was the title). Helping guys get passports, understanding customs laws when going to TOR, etc.

I don't think anything really happens outside of what we get back for Dame. I don't see a rush to trade Nurk and I would keep Ant for a while (and maybe longer then a while, depending on how it goes). I also not losing sleep if they go though.

Nurk might do really well with Scoot, who knows?

Yeah I want Phil Knight to buy the team ASAP, but greedy AF Jody wants to keep it until two seconds after the new media deal. I guess she doesn't have enough unearned billions yet For Fucks Sake.
PK offered 2b. The bobcats just sold for a value of 3b. PK’s offer is so low it is not reasonable for any owner to accept that BS offer.

I think the request happened on Monday. He met with the team with his agent.

Scoot lives and breathes basketball.
His favorite book lately is "The Four Agreements."

where did you hear that about Shaedon? everything I've gleaned is the exact opposite.

the only noise we heard about along those lines was about Keon.

It's been reported by a few places that he didn't ask for a trade until last night.

I think Nurk will do great with Scoot. Nurk does great when the ball is moving around. He'll love throwing passes to people who aren't standing in place.
So we might have a Rod Strickland/Ardvydas Sabonis situation? (obviously not as experienced or skilled but)

Comparing Nurk to Sabonis lol...I guess maybe old no knees Sabonis.

I mean yeah, I know... but I mean like you have a pass-first guard (lol finally) and a soft-handed finesse center with an okay 3pt shot. I remember those days being a lot of fun to watch.

Well hopefully, this new team will be exciting to watch because the win/loss column won't be.

Scoot/Ant/Sharpe

at 1/2/3

I'm down.

Extremely small but extremely fast, will be a lot of fun! Scoot would have two great options to pass to on the break: Ant for a three or Sharpe for a dunk.

I expect we'll make more moves in February, but until then, everyone gets to audition and get to know each other in the new paradigm.

I stand corrected. I thought he offered over market. It seems I was wrong. Well Phil needs to nut up and pay.
