Dame's scoring

His entire offense was pick and pops and rim running. He had nowhere near the repertoire under the rim that he has now. Doesn't mean he wants to use his post moves that often, but he has them.

Yeah but if he doesn't use them does it matter? Rasheed Wallace had MVP skills but he never used them all so he was just an allstar. LMA holds the ball more now and can be confused with double teams. He has a higher ceiling but game in and game out what does he actually contribute to wins?

I'm not sure its better than his 3rd year in the league. LMA was very underrated back then and helped Roy out a ton. We ran the offense though him effectively when Roy rested on the bench. Its just people are so focused on PPG once LMA started jacking up 20+ FGA and he gets his 20 points many assume he's a superior player.

My thinking for superstar guard is, whether he can score 30 or drop 10-15 assists without you even realizing it as a spectator. Or hell, even completely control a game defensively.

Right now, I see Steph, Bron, KD, Davis, and (ugh) Harden in that mold as what I call superstars.

Dame is just a tier lower with Paul George, CP, Griffin, Leonard, Boogie, Westbrook.

He's above the Bledsoe, Drummond, Knight tier.

I think Griffin is up there.

Check Bledsoe's stats though, dude is balling out.

7th in the league in scoring. 6th in the league in assists per game. He's payed like a superstar. I think he is one.

He won't get paid like a superstar (by our billionaire anyway) until next year, so any production at that level is awesome and ahead of schedule.

Man, I just have a really hard time calling Leonard a fringe superstar. He hasn't even averaged 20+ for a full season yet. I think he's on his way, and his numbers certainly look good this year, but I'd put him in the "All-Star" category.

Durant never has been the best player at his position. I consider him a superstar.

It is a subjective phrase.
Durant has been first team all NBA 5x and MVP 1x...

When I say best at position that's essentially what being All-NBA is.

Sure, it's his defense that set him apart for me.

Plus, LeBron and Durant play multiple positions, so to say that Durant isn't the best at his position is kinda silly. He can realistically play three positions.

You think Steve Blake is probably better than Dame.

Hell No I don't.. TBH Bradon Knight is arguably better than Dame right now but I give slight edge to Dame on that one but I think Bledsoe RIGHT NOW has Dame beat.

That's insane.

Check the stats theres a reason why we always lose to that team... Eric Bledsoe is more efficient and best of all, plays much better defense. Theres nothing wrong whatsoever to be slightly worse than Eric Bledsoe

I think the issue isn't that there are other players who are as good if not better than Damian, it's that you don't seem to be able to ever say complimentary things about his game WITHOUT negatively comparing him to other players.

Check the stats? That basically kills any argument you have. Just because someone has better stats does not mean they are a better player. Was Kevin love a top 5 player in the nba when he was on Minnesota?

Every gm in the entire league would rather have lillard than Bledsoe.

This will be proven again when lillard ends up on the all star game over Bledsoe this season

He dropped 30 and 13, but did you see him miss that one pass in that one quarter to that one guy? Shameful.

Anybody else bummed Dame has to shoot this much for us to have a chance to win games? Don't get me wrong, I love seeing him put up huge numbers, just a bit frustrating sometimes. Can't wait for his first 50 game!

Nah, it's entertaining as hell. The team doesn't have enough shooters yet for Dame to decide dropping 15 assists is better for the team than 30 points... last night being the exception of course because the Lakers are a dumpster fire next to a retirement home.

13 assists last night and career high this year of 7.1 a game (while being 6th in the ENTIRE league) show he isn't shooting too much. He is trusting in guys much more this year.

I have to say it feels good to have a star player who averages 25+ ppg. We haven't had this since Drexler. Not Sheed, not Roy, not Aldridge. None of them were dominant scorers like Dame. Finally, a true superstar.
True but he is the PG. I would like to see more assists and last night he had 13 but he's only getting 6.7 a game. I'd like to see it come up.

Man, if we could get one more major star, I think this team would actually be really good. We have a deep bench. What did we put up, 30 points off the bench last night?
Ben Simmons please. Dame, tank this year!

Yup we're about one border line all star player away from being really really really good.. LMA really missed out. Not that hes playing with scrubs now but he could have gotten a lot more credit on the Blazers instead of being patted on the back being a really good role player on the Spurs

LA is a cancer. He's toxic. Happy he's gone.
