Zombie Damian Lillard to request trade in coming days (nope, he's not.)

Welcome to our community

Be a part of something great, join today!

If the Nets and Lakers stay healthy I don't see any other teams in the league contending for the finals...they are just too stacked...who you going to leave open? To beat either of those teams in the playoffs would be a major upset..be great to see but I would be happy with the new coach and roster getting deeper in the playoffs...if those two teams have injuries....different story altogether...see how we are 20 games in before I'll see us as a threat to win it all. I'm not going into the season with unreasonable expectations but if they surprise me...awesome

when Dame said that he was including himself...he knows he's part of our defensive weakness..I'm tired of people acting like Dame feels above the guys he goes to battle with...he's not that kind of leader
If he was including himself or not he said a coaching change would not be enough to make this a championship roster. Him including himself shouldn't give anyone any solace... it might be why he in his own words isn't sure where his future will be. Seriously stop cherry picking snippets of sentences to try and make your point. Use the context of the entirety of this off season and realize that the Dame situation is not resolved and nothing has been done to resolve it in regards to the roster, which hopefully continues to include him.

seriously, find some logic in the fear fueled speculation you're posting about the guy...he's not supporting your fears...nothing to do with my formed opinion...I've heard and read the same interviews you have...y'all are trippin'..you're welcome to it but my opinion is valid about Dame's mindset and process ...he's been clear..fans and media have not been clear about this at all...you can hold your breath as long as you like...I'm exhaling...Dame's not upset with the Blazers...some folks here have never NOT been upset with the Blazers...simple

Olshey has had 9 years. Results haven't been good enough.

We are a treadmill team with no chance of contention and low confidence in Olshey doing anything to improve those chances.

fair enough. But then in the last nine years how many gms made moves thst were good enough? Gsw, miami, cleveland, phoenix and milwaukee?

Im not an NO supporter per say but i do not think he has been the disaster some claim.
He couldn't control injuries or player that didnt recover from injuries.
Some people make statements insinuating he has done nothing and thats simply not true.

Whether he has done enough or not is totally debatable but to say he hasnt tried to me is a load of crap.

i will say this though. The lack of current options is on him and only him.

Westbrook. The Blazers did that against the Oklahoma City Thunder in the playoffs a couple years ago and Westbrook obligingly bricked perimeter shot after perimeter shot.

He isn't terrible. He has made decent moves. A lot of bad moves though.

He would be serviceable for a big market team. He is not the choice for a small market team. Small market teams generally will need a top 5 gm to compete.

not sure lbj will allow that. Westbrick isnt the alpha on this team like he was in okc.
Plus he never had an ad.

i hope im wrong but i think brick comes out with a different style that fits better and they could be a really unstoppable force… for a out 49 games.

I think they'll be very good in the regular season and fall short in the playoffs. We'll see.

i can agree with that. Soooo little margin for error in our market. I also think that's why he may be hesitant to pull the trigger on cj. If it goes wrong he is completely screwed. Currently at least he is a winning team percentage wise. So he is playing that safe.
Not saying that i agree with it. Just that i think its part of his decision making.

No he's likely the third guy in the pecking order behind LeBron and AD. When he was second to KD he was a lot better and played much smarter basketball. It will be interesting to see how that team shakes out. Westbrook, Bazemore, Ariza, LeBron and AD would be a killer lineup. Westbrook, Bazemore, LeBron, AD and Gasol is a scary big lineup. They also only have 12 players under contract with two more training camp players and two 2way guys. They could dump both training camp guys and pick up Wes and a guy like Patrick Patterson.

This will make me happy if he becomes mr endgame over Lebron and AD.....somehow I think Lebron has different ideas about how that plays out

People defending olshey is just comical at this point. Just stop.
Nobody has ever defended Olshey really around here...but there is a group that have hated the Blazers and everything they've done for 9 years ..I don't give a shit about the guy really...he's a suit and if he blows it he's gone...I won't grieve for the guy....in the meantime...there's really nothing to be pissed off over at this point..we're in transition again.

Oh people have defended. Everyone should be anti olshey at this point. These are just facts of life.

the facts are he's done things I like and things I don't...just like every GM would ...I'm pro Blazers...don't believe in negative projections period..not why I'm a fan. Jody Allen is why he has his job...she's the one you hate apparently..he's already said his own feet are held to the fire now...he either does a decent job and got the right coach or not...we'll see..these are the facts of a balanced life. I like Greg Brown...like Zeller off the bench..love the Norm contract...Snell and McLemore are meh....work in progress...I don't think we're done at all until the trade deadline passes

No one in here that's regularly posting hates the Blazers. The Blazers are the favorite team of almost everyone who posts on this forum. If you're saying that for the last 9 years people in here have hated the moves that have been made I think that's even a stretch. I think since the summer of 2015 the front office has made mistake after mistake and it's drawn the ire of a lot of people that love this team. I don't see how anyone could be happy with what this team has done over the last 6 years. I don't know how anyone can listen to Olshey take zero responsibility and completely throw Stotts under the bus and be cool with Neil still being the GM.

Like I've said, I'm still holding out hope that the reason why Neil hasn't talked to the media about the off season yet is because he's got a blockbuster in the works but that hope isn't the most logical thing given his history but unlikely things happen all of the time.

Yes. The last 9 years and his signings of this offseason are the facts.

Just trying to expedite the process so everyone can understand these very common sense facts.

oh. I was referring to the comical part.

i think we all know the facts on paper.

He may not be "Mr. Endgame," but if he's consistently left open throughout the game, James and Davis will find it tougher sledding playing 4-on-5.

so getting to the western conf finals for the first time in 14 years didn't make you happy? that sucks...I was thrilled to see it..and we did it with a one armed center who was fasting and Evan Turner...

I'm always having a good time when I watch the Blazers play because I'm a fan and it's sports. So even heartbreak, when it comes to sports, is still just fun in a way. At the same time I want my favorite team in all of sports to have more to hang their hat on over the past decade than being swept out of the WCF. So yeah, I had fun watching us get past a bunch of banged up teams and I even had fun being furious at how pathetic we looked against the Warriors that post season but again, I have fun every season.

What's not fun for me is to have a GM that talks down to everyone and won't do anything substantial to get us further than being swept out of the conference finals and usually not making it out of the first round. Unfortunately I think Dame feels the same way but we'll have to wait and see about that. I just think it's a dangerous game not taking him seriously and assuming he'll stick around despite a lack of improvement, when he already said he's weighing his options.

by this logic, most teams (and fans of said teams) don't even get a hug and handshake.
I've pointed this out before but since Olshey took over our team 15 teams have logged a win in the conference finals and we haven't been one of them. That's 15 out of 30. So we're in the bottom half of the league when it comes to conference finals wins over the last nine seasons. Us and Memphis are the only teams that have made it there just to be swept out. I just don't like being grouped in with those other teams... I'm not satisfied with being tied with Memphis. More so I'm not OK with 15 other teams being more successful than us.

Before Olshey we hadn't made a conference final in a decade and a half....I'm ok that we got to one a couple of years ago and have had a long run of making the playoffs...now it's time to take the next step....you don't need to be OK with the team...that's on you though, not those who suit up and go to battle season after season..I'm proud of the Blazers over the last decade. We can be better and I think we will...otherwise what's the point? We aren't the dominate franchise in the NBA? Welcome to Blazer land! We've always been the underdog team...I was happy for the Bucks last season...they had a 50 year drought or so.....go underdogs! We've been the Bucks of the west for a long time.

I would rather not go on a pity date with her and hit the gym/work on myself so that one day she might actually want to smash. That stupid "pity date" set us back several years. Kept Stotts around. Kept the Dame/CJ marriage going. That pity date quite possibly fucked us over in the Dame era.

Dame..."I've already won. I have everything I ever wanted.wealth.a 14k sqft mansion..a beautiful wife who's my best friend...8 siblings and cousins who all live close to me.My mom around the corner..a boat on the river..every car I've ever wanted...an organic farm that I'm directly involved in..a Toyota dealership...a massive Addidas deal around the corner....the keys to an NBA franchise..3 children...playing hoops with my best friends, a recording deal and access to Paul Allen's hollywood studio....an Olympic gold medal...all NBA..multiple allstar nods...big movie role in Space Jam 2....now since we got beat by Denver I better move to Philly to get a little tiny ring....give up all my empire to chase it and go against everything I've preached since.. being here....greatest Blazer ever.." as if twitter is going to impact his life that drastically...nah
