Zombie Damian Lillard to request trade in coming days (nope, he's not.) (1 Viewer)

I actually don't think there's really a good package for Dame right now unless we're planning on a complete blowup and rebuild.

It's hard to say. We have no idea really what teams would offer. We don't know if Dame would give us a short list. Too many unknowns.

I was just saying the Sixers couldn't put together a great package for Dame. I read that the Pelicans would want to give up Ingram, Hayes and picks... that would be intriguing and I'm sure there are a lot of intriguing offers out there. I'm hoping it's not going to matter because I'm hoping that CJ is traded for someone that is a better fit for our roster because that would make us a competitive team in the West right now.

What the hell is that? It looks like some sort of amazingly weird catfish begging for something to consume on the side of someone's boat but that can't be right. I must be smoking some weird ass shit.

Philadelphia has its eyes set on Portland All-NBA guard Damian Lillard, sources say, but the Trail Blazers have fully focused on continuing to build around Lillard. As of now, Lillard is continuing to evaluate the Trail Blazers’ present and future and is slated to begin training camp with the organization. In some ways, the 76ers are stuck between deciding whether to make a move now with Simmons — or waiting until a star like Lillard shakes free.

From shams

The stupidity of Morey knows no bounds... Even if we WERE to trade Dame... (we're not)

We ain't trading him to your Bitch ass! Especially for Simmons and his bloated, albatross of a contract!
No, we're gonna want young players and picks because we'd be blowing it up.

It's ridiculous for him to even think he has any semblance of an opportunity to acquire Dame...

I really think Morey is dropping the ball on this one. I'm not even convinced we would want to trade Dame to Philly. Also, it's not like things with Simmons are tenable right now. His house is on fire and he's sitting on the front lawn reading about his penny stocks.
Trading Dame for Simmons would be dumb unless we're getting several lotto picks as well.

Simmons isn't somebody to build a team around though. So even then it's probably doomed to disaster.

Getting Simmons with Dame is worth it. But I'd rather blow it up if we had trade Dame than trade Dame for Simmons.

It's just weird to me how Dame's attitude shifted so abruptly. I wanted him to start being more vocal and throwing his weight around, but it feels like he's a lot closer to the edge than I would expect. Makes me wonder if he has been privately telling Neil the roster sucks for a while, and Neil just isn't getting it done.

I don't think his attitude has shifted. He's always wanted to win a championship

and 3 years ago he went over Olshey's head and talked to PA directly about the direction of the team. After that conversation the Blazers won 53 games and made it to the WCF where they got swept. Olshey's response to that was to essentially exchange Aminu-Curry-Harkless-Kanter-Turner-Meyers-Layman for Whiteside-Bazemore-Tolliver-Hezonja-Skal...and a losing season

then, this year toward the end of the season, Dame talked about how he had a good feeling about the team and thought they'd be strong in the playoffs...then they lost to an injured Denver team

then, Olshey fired Stotts and said the roster wasn't the problem...then he got rid of half of the roster

I think Dame has been pressuring Olshey and ownership for a lot longer than this summer. I'm betting he's been doing it quietly behind closed doors. At this point, I'd imagine he has little confidence in either management or ownership, and rightly, sees no reason to back off and relieve pressure on management by making a long term commitment to the team after 9 years of loyalty

Agreed. This is my take as well.

It is obviously a dog by my seeing, bro.

I didn't hear this, did anyone else hear the actual thing?

lol that was actually a response from Jake to my question in the chat about why he and the media repeatedly bring up Dame's name as potential tradable stars when he has mentioned hundreds of times of his desire to win a title in Portland. It kinda set him off a bit and prompted him to explicitly say Dame is not going anywhere this year and the noise is stemming solely from his response to the question put forth to him during Team USA, where he said he doesn't know if this roster can win a title as constructed (to Fentress, if i recall). Jake mentioned repeatedly how loyal Dame is and the only reason anyone is talking about him being potentially on the trade block is that even the faintest hints about his unhappiness here are unusual.

That Sean highkin clown literally put up a tweet saying "interesting caption" in response to this.

Dude is a fucking joke looking for anything to create drama for.

Id post the tweet but saying his name is already bad enough.
Everyone's trying to make something out of nothing. I don't even know what you could say about the caption. It's anything BUT ambiguous about his intent.

(also sidebar: CJ has not liked it - ;) )

Windhorst on his pod said something about Dame being able to get extended for another two years next summer ~100 mil. He said if Portland doesn't win as he hopes this season, the team could throw more $ to tag on to the end of his existing deal to entice him to stay.

If all this drama was a play by him to get two more years at 50+ million per....

Aww man. I just got into mobile trading. Ima go broke now….
Yeah. I'm staying away from trading on my phone.
I just don't feel like i make sound decisions when i am pushing buttons on a device that might change the word typed in a hurry with my pinky finger while holding my Egg McMuffin.
Not to mention there is always a chance i could lose my phone or it could be stolen.
