The Arleigh Burke Class Destroyers cost about 700 million a piece now. Two and half times as much as the first 60 cost.

The irony that a link that was broken is your proof that the bailout cost more than AT MINIMUM the 1.2 trillion spent on the Navy between just 92 and 2004.

Not counting 76-91 and 2005 through 2013.

And the reason I bring up 92-2004 is because A: the website I went to only went up to 2004 and B: I got tired of calculating it up to that point and figured that anyone with an ounce of sense would see that if in just 12 years the US Navy budget grossed 1.2 TRILLION dollars, it would have been far greater than the amount spent on the Bailouts. Even if doubled.

btw, funny thing about the article? Right off it says "gas guzzling cars" like the Corvette. Ironically enough, the Corvette actually gets decent gas mileage (now, it didn't during the first 30+ years of it's life..but what American car did?). They're probably thinking of the Viper, which gets atrocious mileage.

And the Caddies (sedans) actually get decent mileage for their size. My grandfather has a late 90's Deville, and he gets 25-28 on the highway. And it flies.
