I thought that the teams are Detroit in name only. Outside of the city are large white communities of upper and middle class folks?

In the last decade that city has lost 25% of their population. Like New Orleans, only worse.
When do other cities (Portland?) start to try and steal one of their pro teams?
I don't quite know where to start. This isn't a new topic by any means. I love architecture, and am always checking out websites and reading articles about it. Found one on the city of Detroit, Michigan. Started digging and reading about what is happening to this place. It is basically a third world country within our borders!
It's the only major city without a major grocery store chain. People have to go to the suburbs to buy food. People are planting gardens in abandoned lots to grow food. RIGHT IN DOWNTOWN DETROIT!
There are so many dead bodies turning up in these old run down buildings and so few cops and paramedics that they sometime go years without being found.
I was wondering if any of you are from there or have any knowledge on what went down and why this can be allowed to happen in the United States. It's like a post apocalyptic town. They said the city is filing for bankruptcy.
Just can't believe it.

Imagine this. Barrack Obama spent more money rescuing GM and Chrysler than the previous 10 President spent on the United States Navy, including all of the Nimitz class carriers.
But it hasn't meant a damn thing to the City of Detroit.
The only way to fix Detroit is to level it to the ground and start over.
See, saying shit like this makes people think you only repeat the horse shit you see on the Drudge Report, or Glenn Beck.
Last year *alone* the Navy's budget was almost 150 BILLION. Let's be conservative and say it's 75 billion per year.
You're telling me that 10 Presidents worth (Obama, Obama (75X5), Bush, Bush (75 X 8), Clinton, Clinton (75X8), Bush (75X4), Reagan, Reagan (75X8) and Carter (75X4) ) is less than what was spent on Chrysler and GM?
ESPECIALLY since it was Bush who bailed out GM Chrysler...
Just saying, what you said is factually not even remotely accurate.
Are you denying that the Democratic Party had complete control over Detroit for the last 60 years? Because, if so, that would make you a liar.
Detroit elected full-blown thugs like Kwame Kirkpatrick to mayor, and he looted from his "own" people. There is a reason Detroit gets no play in the major media, and it's because it's the worst-case scenario for the Skittles and Unicorns bullshit that liberals try to say is possible.
So....what the fucking fuck does that have to do with what I posted?
Please try to address what it was I posted about, kthanxbye
I must have misunderstood your rant at MarAzul. I thought you went off because he pointed out the fact that Detroit has been under the rule of Democrats for 60 years. I have no idea what the Navy has to do with this, but perhaps you can add some context.

Julius, can you explain why fermented rabbit flesh mixed with cumin and pictures of Lorenzo Lamas isn't being used to stop unwanted boar pregnancy by the democrats?
60 years of continuous Democrat management of the City, giving Labor Unions what they want while the Unions run the employers rght out of town.
Really?
You were unable to comprehend the part of his that I directly quoted and what it had to do with the Navy?
Here, I'll post it again.
This time, in bold.
This time, in Italics.
This time, underlined.
This time, with a larger font, in case your eyesight is going.
This time, in red!
This time, without quotes.

Most of that bail-out money went to bail GM out of bankruptcy and to protect the pensions of the UAW. The actual bond-holders got fucked over in the GM bail-out, but GM isn't what was going to keep Detroit running.
Again, I have no idea what you're talking about, because the GM bail-out is just a fraction of what happened to Detroit under the fraud and incompetence of Democrats over the last 60 years.
It's like people take stupid pills these days.
See, I knew he wouldn't answer my question.

We took our younger kid to see Sesame Street Live in the Fox theater (which is very nice) in Downtown Detroit in February this year. I figured the easiest thing to do would be for me to drop my wife and him off at the theater and to drive elsewhere and hang out until it was over and come pick them up. Here are some pictures I took nearby (with my phone, which is old and crap). (The one with my car in it is only to show how empty it is where they've knocked down a bunch of buildings, and this is a stone's throw from the heart of Detroit.)Imagine this. Barrack Obama spent more money rescuing GM and Chrysler than the previous 10 President spent on the United States Navy, including all of the Nimitz class carriers.

Please don't turn this actual quality thread into a democrat vs republican thing. Theres more to it than that.

I'm addressing his claim that the total amount of $$ spent on the bailout was more than the total amount of money spent on the Navy over the last 10 Presidents.
It's not really a difficult concept to understand. So apparently your inability to decipher such a simple, straight forward response to his comment suggests that you have OD'd on stupid pills.
