Sometimes I am the DD for the night. I'll have like a drink or two but will cut out early and sometimes it really sucks being that sober with a room full of drunks. Maybe its a crutch, but its also pretty fun being drunk. Hate being the DD.....like tonight, I was probably going to be DD for me and some buddies but fuck it, I said to split for a cab instead.

Not a big alcohol drinker, so it's no skin off my nose. I like soft drinks a lot.

I'm the same way, I don't drink much and I like soft drinks so it doesn't bother me in the least.

Yup. A couple of them are lawyers. I've often joked that one subject on the Bar must be "drinking," because every lawyer I know drinks like a fish.
Funny, when you say that the name Tom Boerwinkle comes to mind.

I absolutely hate being the DD. When I'm not drunk myself I hate being around drunks and have no fun the whole night

Hanging out with drunks doesn't float my boat so I've never been "designated".

A room full of 3 year olds will provide a more stimulating conversation, and they are less likely to throw up on you.

Heh. Did he drink much? I don't remember the topic ever coming up in any conversation I had with him.

do alot of them do coke?

Not to my knowledge. They spend money freely, though...a habit that started before they passed the Bar and got higher-paying jobs. I guess you gotta have experience in dropping bills before you hit the big-time. ;)

DD years are over. Now, when the guys hang out, it's a short cab ride to/from the bar if we're going to watch a game. When my wife and I go to a cocktail party, she is a one-drink social person, so DD never comes up.

I remember him saying he liked bars, beer, and some hard liquors. I think tequila, maybe vodka, and a couple of other ones.

I don't mind it at all, I even volunteer to get friends from other parties, however, it's need to be balanced with not being the DD. But overall, i like it.

No, but trying to talk to drunk people sucks. Strangely like trying to talk to old people. Which also sucks.

Yeah, if I have to drive, okay. But if I'm in a city where there's public transportation home (like a subway or light-rail) that's clearly the way to do it.

Anyone know why the PDX Max closes so early on the weekends. I think if you want to catch a train westbound in the city you have to leave at around midnight. They should keep the trains running until 2:30 on the weekends.

I never drink, so if I go out with people who do, I'm usually the designated driver. It's a strange concept to me, however, since I personally can't imagine putting anything in my body that would make me incapable of driving.

saw someone on my way home walking the sobriety test. one of my buddys drove the other night...he was probably on the edge of legality i think.....night sucked ass anyways, so glad i was drunk.

anyways, I think that when there's a DUI at least here in Cali...there are two cop cars for some reason. just something i noticed.

One of my best friends is LDS. We did an RV trip a couple of years ago to see the Kentucky Derby and then to tour bourbon distilleries. He did all the driving, bless his heart.
