Do the Blazers acquire a pick?

  • A pick in the 20-30 range

  • A pick in the 31-40 range

  • A late 2nd rounder

  • Paul Allen loves Draft Day and we get 2 picks

Damn. For that cheap i would have taken him.
That's what I was thinking. Take the Charlotte deal with Hawes, then flip the 22 and the Cleveland pick for Young, and all of a sudden we have a lot of scoring in our frontcourt.

Blazers will never get baby Sabonis, please give up on that. Imagine the extra pressure the kid would feel playing for Portland. It's not happening

Gary Payton 2 tho? Sure
I think I just screwed up embedding it:

Hearing that we shouldn't be surprised if high second-round picks in tonight's NBA Draft fetch the full $3 million in trades tonight
Yeh, I had to give Dave over at BE some crap cuz he was claiming Blazers could buy two 2nd round picks, even though they have apparently already spent some of their yearly allotted three milllion.

I think it's stupid that they put a cap on how much cash you can spend.

I agree with this kind of move.

Perhaps not getting in on something like indicates our potential FA activity?

I think Neil has every intention of going hard after one of the big name guys in free agency. Gonna need that cap space.

Cash Paid ($3.4 million max): $75 to Cleveland Cavaliers (Brendan Haywood); $75k to Miami HEAT (Brian Roberts)

I imagine to Cavs is supposed to be 75K. If not, that's opretty funny. 75 bucks. Did Paul pick up a bar tab or something for Gilbert? So we have 3.25 or so

That cracked me up. I wish I could have gotten rid of my ex-wife for $75. Hell, I wish the divorce would have only cost me $75K. It's weird that we've gotten used to hearing about max. contracts starting at $26 - $30 million a year, that anything in the NBA happens in dollar amounts, like $75K that a regular fan can relate to.

If not, Paul Allen and Mark Cuban would be in a bidding war for the #1 pick every year.

I'd be fine with that.

P.S. It would actually be the Knicks buying the #1 pick every year. Which I'd also be OK with, as they'd fuck it up every year and we'd have the 2nd pick, which would still get us the best player.

Seriously.

And the source that is leaking this 21-23 bullshit is from Perth? Come on now. How do they get away with this shit?

Similar to Sullinger falling because of so called back issues that suddenly appeared on draft day, or DeJuan Blair no ACL or something (how the hell does a guy play in the NBA for years without an ACL?), etc etc etc.

It's bullshit. Stupidity abound.
Isn't that how Batum fell to us? What was his bogus ailment again? Heart trouble?

OK. Have fun with that guys. ;)

i saw a thing saying that the kings have realized they aren't going to be a FA destination so they are going to be very active on the trade floor....yet to see even a rumor with them involved....

Agents aren't even sending players there for Draft workouts.

Not that I expected to see much because NO keeps things on lockdown (and we don't have any picks), but I really haven't seen any Blazers discussion.

Don't know who this guy is but at least it's a rumor involving Blazers...

Says they pitched it.... doesn't mean Philly will bite.
I've seen worse first pitches.

Probably cheaper to buy late-first than early second rounder.... If this is the case, there are a few guys I'd like to go after, GPII being one.
You want to take GP II with a first round pick?

Why? I don't see him getting a second contract in the NBA.
