Tough to have a party when you fire the hosts

Tough to have a party when you dont have any draft picks. I heard that there isnt even a post draft press conference scheduled, no media invite. Maybe a sign that we arent planning on making any picks.

Do you guys really think the Blazers will do something groundbreaking in the draft?

No, nobody thinks they will do anything "groundbreaking". We're still going to pay attention though. You're welcome to do so as well.

But....but.....We always have a first round pick because Paul Allen is our owner

Wasn't there a party last year?

I'm hoping for Kris Dunn, who has the defensive ability of a Payton with a refined, polished offensive game.

We'd need at least the #3 to get him. I like Kris Dunn too. He looks like a stud. But I'd also like some thoughts on what assets we'd need to give up for such a high pick for a guy who won't ever start for us. :dunno:

We had a pick in at least one of the two rounds last year so of course there was a party.

The year before we had no pick going into the draft. Was there a party then? That is the question to be asking. And, I don't know the answer off-hand.

Plumlee and a future pick at least.

Here's a tweet concerning Jeremy Lamb from a year ago. Would not fit here either. "DraftExpress: Had heard some reports that Jeremy Lamb was on the trading block (along with Perry Jones). Lack of intensity and work ethic didn't fit in."

I want GP-II. If the Blazers got Gordon Hayward I'd do backflips. I don't think the Blazers are willing to give up the assets that would be needed though.

The better bet would seem to be on Hawes. Still shot 37% from the three last yearin 18 minutes a game. Still only 28 years old. Had almost 9 rebounds per 36 and 3.5 assists per 36. I don't see the Blazers doing this. They also want to preserve as much cap space as possible.

There are picks to be had, so if Portland sits this one out it'll most likely be because they didn't see anything they liked rather than not being able to get in.

Actually Plumlee and CLE 1st would probably land is MIL #10 and Monroe?

Plumlee won't land you anywhere near #3, maybe #10.
George hill just got pick #12.

I think he definitely could get you #10ish this draft. Add in a future first and move up a few spots.

Teams dont seem to value picks much this year outside of the top 2

This better be an exciting draft day for us. I took the day off work so I can submerge myself in coverage. Lets make a Pippen-like trade and find a way to draft Sabas.

dream draft for me would be trade to get Sabonis and then add late first early 2nd draft pick and get GP2. IMO both will turn out to be very good NBA players.

I will be very excited if we get both of them. Add one or two free agents and we're a force.

Done.

Okafor or Noel to Portland
Cle first, Plumlee, There's gotta be something else valuable on this team....right? and Jeremi Grant. 1.24 to Boston
3 to Philly
Boston are not giving up on #3 that cheaply. They were looking for Butler and will be much better off with Okafor straight swap.

Hawes' salary is less than Meyers' cap hold. If a max free agent is interested in coming to Portland, trading for Hawes would make renouncing Meyers more palatable for those who want a stretch 5.

If the players that Neil has target been taken he will then sit on his hands.

Yep and I'm a bit surprised but on the other hand Atlanta had to give up on a good PG in Teague, even if it was not a straight swap and had to go through Indiana. #3 is a different kettle. Maybe #7 to #8?

Doing research tonight for Mock Draft 10. Based on all the info I can find, the Kings only got 1 prospect ranked in our Top 30 in for a workout -- Wade Baldwin. They didn't even get medicals on most of the top 10 prospects. They've been completely shunned by agents.

Boogie, gtfo, man. That organization is in the shit and keeps getting worse.
