Quick: Historically, other owners have committed years and put in money …

Dunden: In Portland?

Me: Yes, in Portland, dumbass. Ever hear of Paul Allen?

This guy comes off more arrogant than Donald Trump. I didn't think that was possible.

You feel me?! Like wtf u mean in Portland dumbass

It was one interview and it was with Jason Quick... maybe Dundon is a guy who mirrors smarmy energy.

I don't think a hyper driven, results oriented owner who comes off as arrogant is a terrible thing or something unique in the world of NBA ownership. He comes off almost like he's doing a Mark Cuban impersonation... early Mavs ownership Mark Cuban.

Dundon doesn't seem like the kind of guy I want to hang out with but he does seem like the kind of guy, who might push our team to more success than we've seen in a long time.

I don't follow the NHL closely enough to know but the biggest worry I have with this small amount of information, is if he'll be giving more interviews than anyone else in the organization. Hopefully closer to Cuban than Jerry Jones.

Like I said that's a Jason Quick interview.

I don't know what Dundon's tone of voice was and Quick has a history of annoying the people he interviews.

The fact is that Jody and Bert put the onus on our city when they gave the city the Rose Garden/Moda and a 20 year commitment is a long ass commitment. The follow ups to that were pretty combative from Quick but he got what he wanted. That "In Portland?" quote will definitely get a lot of buzz. I don't think it was disrespectful to our city.

Paul Allen was low key actually more of a Chesapeake owner if you look at his last 15 years owning the team before he died. Blazers were bottom 5 of teams in the NBA in luxury tax paid along with all the other small markets that never won a title (outside SAS)

People give Allen credit for the 2000 SPAM era but that was a long freaking time ago - more than a quarter of a century.

Love his attitude. Won't be satisfied with mediocrity.

All of Dundon responses seem fine to me. You want an owner that is excited to compete and employees all happy to work hard for. Jody provided basically none of that and even Paul Allen himself while I think a good owner wasn't really a motivator. As Dundon said ultimately I'm more interested in the results than the talk though.

Will the team make moves that are part of a cohesive strategic plan? Often the Kolde/Cronin era frusterated me in that we seemed to be trying to do dual timelines strategy of rebuilding long term while overpaying vets to win immediately. It's much better to pick one direction and having all moves follow that strategy.

I hope Dundon doesn't do any shortsighted win now moves. Often new ownership is in such a rush to immediately compete they make poor decisions. We will just have to see what the moves are at the draft, free agency, and next season and then we can start judging them.

I'm cautiously optimistic.
