I am one of the few who did not want new ownership. I appreciated the deep pockets that the Allens brought. I knew that type of money was hard to replace. It is humorous to me that a few of you who essentially wanted anyone but them are so quick to shift their disdain to Dundon. I should be the one complaining. But it is way too soon for that. He has said nothing to get bent out of shape over.

The Blazers have had two owners in their history. The Allen group and the Weinberg group. Only one of them made much of an investment in the arena or the city. Quick made it sound like there was more.

The new group are investors and the ROI for NBA franchises that build a rep for winning, the value goes up substantially. Thus, I like that Tom is said to be intense and motivated by winning. He has the ability to convince the board to spend aggressively, where necessary, to make that jump to a winning franchise. Good for their investment. Staying status quo / mediocre as more than half the league is, only suppresses asset increase in value. Sure he will cut cost where needed, probably, but that shouldn't mean he wont be aggressive. If he doesn't perform and build a winner within a certain time frame the other owners and board will expect better result's quickly, or? He should be as hands on as Paul was, as it appears thats what led to his success.

Somehow I got blowhard vibes. Reminds me a little of another guy who is short on specifics or a plan. Seems as if he will be very unhappy if we don't make the playoffs; I wonder if he even knows we will lose the draft pick?

It's a big nothing burger to me. But Blazer fans and the local media will always make a mountain out of a molehill.
Looks like they were talking about the X's and O's of basketball. Joe was explaining something to Tom. If it was some sort of argument, I doubt Blazers President Dewayne would be ignoring the conversation like he was.

and I doubt they'd do it out in the public...

But holy crap, are you right about fans and local media making mountains out of molehills (NOT that there aren't things that should be talked about...but you can tell when someone is desperate for attention based on how silly their story/issue is. If they're not taking it serious/click bait type titles/segments on the radio, it's not serious).

Here is what I am sure of or semi sure of ...

1) He is not Paul Allen and this is not a bad thing but it could be but it's a BIG -- TBD
2) He wants to win but is that just words or will he ( other investors ) put the money out needed to get this team winning -- TBD

I am willing to give him some time ( 2 years maybe 3 ) to see if he is willing to put out the money needed but I will admit I am a little nervous going from Mr. Megabucks to someone who is just very wealthy and has investors that might muddy the waters when it comes to putting out any serious money. This is all a big TBD and it can make fans wary but let's just hope for the best but prepare for some bumps cause there will be some for sure. Also have patience cause it will take some time so buckle up and enjoy the ride and hope it does not go off the rails -- LOL

A lot of Pauls good side of being an owner was, realistically, that he just threw money at stuff.

Not saying he was a bad owner, but he didn't always have a vision that was serious. Especially after the 2000 collapse and getting burned by what happened. And then the bankruptcy thing didn't help...but one of his best things about Paul (money) was one of his worst traits (throwing money at things and finding a new toy (Seahawks)).

Yes, expecting any single owner out there it ever be like Paul, is silly. One of a kind.

I'll hold judgement till I see comments by the players over time. Until then, pure conjecture.
