Do you think Elleby will get a 2nd contract in the NBA?

@AldoTrapani I take it back man. Dame had 29 points on 20 shots and had 9 assists. He's totally the Melo of point guards.

We lost the game in the 2nd quarter. The bench came is and gave up the lead. Plus Trent started hot, then never saw the ball in the second and then forced it . OH yeah the Knicks out rebounded the Blazers.

Blazers suffer a bad loss in New York to finish off their long road trip. We'll break down why we keep having let downs like this following games that should build momentum. Join us for the Blazers Uprise Post Game Show:

Hello, Blazer fans, look at your team, now back to preseason roster, now back at your team, now back to the presason roster. Sadly, your team isn’t the preseason team, but if the current team stopped using ladies scented body wash and switched to Old Spice or on defense, he could smell like he’s Clyde Drexler and Terry Porter. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re on a court with the team your team could play like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an oyster with two tickets to the NBA Finals. Look again, the tickets are now championship rings. Anything is possible when your team smells like Old Spice and not a 32-year-old Eastern European small forward. I’m on a horse.

Bad loss? We were the underdogs! Don't let facts get in the way of your narrative my friend!

Have fun spinning a short-handed 3-3 road trip as a negative!

Simons looking a lot better at attacking the basket. Once he starts to finish on a regular basis he will turn the corner.
He is already a better backup point guard than I thought he would be. He was looking to pass more than usual. He had 3 assists but could have had at least 2 more if not for missed shots. Not bad for 18 minutes.
He really needs to work on the other end of the court. His defense is bad. Other teams search him out. If he could even become a mediocre on that end it would really help.

Maybe ... maybe not.

It might hurt us in playoff seeding, but it might help us in figuring out how to play together, how to value more possessions, etc. I don't know that losing to Chicago is going to have a negative impact on when we play Denver.

Seeding is THE problem. Facing LAL in round 1 is death.

I'm not surprised at the result. The Knicks aren't the awful Knicks we've seen the last decade. It was the last game of a long road trip. Dame and DJJ were coming back after missing time with injuries. We just had an emotional win.

Truthfully, I didn't think we played all that badly. We did the bad things we typically complain about. The only real difference was we missed a few more open shots and got down and missed a few more open shots at the very end that we've come to expect to make.

This road trip could have been much, much, much worse.

Now, just hope Dame's OK and we go home.

Things I was encouraged about:

1. RoCo seems to be settling in. He's hitting his shots with more consistency and even doing some stuff inside. Playing a bit like Gerald Wallace. Still a few silly mistakes in this game, but I thought his good outweighed his bad. He's getting better.

2. Ant, even on a minutes restriction, is finding his role. He's figuring out that he can be more than a 3-point shooter ... which, ironically, is making him a better 3-point shooter.

3. I thought Blevins did a great job on the bench.

Oh yeah, and we played at 10 a.m. Pacific time. That definitely screws you up, too.

Post of the day!

Playing the Lakers in any round is probably death. I mean, I don't know what to tell you, going to the championship goes through them or someone who beat them.

I didn't feel that way. Dame got reinjured early and was slowed. We had our usual issues defensively, but almost everyone on the team missed open shots they'd usually make.

I thought we moved the ball decently, for the most part. This really was just one of those games when shots didn't fall. We even struggled on the free throw line.

...good to read! Thanks, that is promising-- Knicks do have one of the best defenses in the league (allegedly)

To be fair, they made some shots I wouldn't normally count on them making either, but our defense contributes to that regularly, so I didn't mention it before.

We had Dame and DJJ back and the better record and we were the underdogs? Thats hilarious

Yes they were and it appears if anything, they should have been favored by more. Vegas doesn't make spreads based off records. It appears the majority of the betting public agreed.

that's really stretching pretty hard to give him props. Dame would have had 20 assists tonight if "not for missed shots". That's something that happens to every play-maker, every game

Knicks better than the Blazers. Pretty pathetic

I thought he played just fine toinght, didn't you? Defense is still an issue, had a bad turnover, but also hit some tough shots.

Blazers destroy the best team in the east, get destroyed by one of the worst

Dame got reinjured early and was slowed.

Was Dame slowing the team or not? Were there other players standing still while he was dribbling the ball? I love him, but I think it wasn't smartest decision to play him with one leg just after second unit outplayed Philly.

This is why I have little faith that Nassir will get any run when he gets back after his 30 point outburst against the Bucks.

Elleby played his ass off, hustled, scrapped and very positively influenced the team.....and the next game doesn't get a sniff.

Not like the Blazers are missing tons of players due to injury either....
Certainly seemed like we could have used his energy on 6th game of road trip.

Why is that pathetic?

Because they are in rebuild mode. Blazers aren't. Before the season Blazers were touted as having the best offseason and being one of the best in the west. So much for that.

Dame wasn't as typically explosive as he can be. He clearly was laboring most of the game after taking a shot to the ribs early. He deferred a decent amount. The offense was our typical offense. TBH, going to more movement I don't think would have been beneficial, because he needed to conserve his energy. It was what it was.
