Negative MRI sounds like nothing to me. From Lohud...
Jacoby Ellsbury was sent for an MRI today. Joe Girardi said the results came back negative, and Girardi remains confident Ellsbury will be available on Opening Day.
“When he came to the park, they sent him to get it,” Girardi said. “He could have taken BP today. I always say, if they don’t know how to hit BP yet, we’re in a lot of trouble. … My guess is he’ll try to take some BP tomorrow and then we’ll go from there. We want him to run before he plays.”
Despite today’s test, Girardi continues to say the calf tightness is seen as a minor issue. He talks as if it’s a matter of days, not weeks, before Ellsbury will be a full player again.
“I’m very confident he’ll be ready April 1,” Girardi said
