I hope so. It’s something worth exploring. He’s done it before in OKC with Adams.

If the playoffs started today, we’d be playing the rockets. They start PJ Tucker at PF. Offensively, his involvement is pretty much just stand in the corner and wait for the ball. He is among league leaders in corner three point attempts. You can “hide” Kanter on him. And offensively that’s a huge mismatch. Kanter and Nurk would feast on tucker and capela.

Going deeper, the Jazz are below the Rockets. If we played the Jazz, we could use Kanter at PF as well. They’re starting Favors and his backup is Crowder who doesn’t do anything offensively except shoot set threes. Spurs are similar with Bertans starting at PF.

The more you dig, the better this move looks. Kanter could be a real X factor. All three of these teams will struggle to guard him.

Mike Richman on the Locked on pod today said Terry apparently is adamant that Kanter will play regular minutes. Richman estimates 20+ every night.

Not sure about that. I'm guessing that means we'll see at least a few mins of Nurk-Kanter together.

Nurk averages 27. That leaves 21 for Kanter. I don't expect anyone else to play at 5.

All those good plays shown in the video.....so the stuff we don't see must really be bad for his Defensive ratings to be so low.

Talk about Kanters defense got me thinking...where would he rank if he graded out even average on that end? Offensively I put him in the top 10, and if we’re talking about pure post work, probably top 5. Overall I have him in the top 20.

That’s quite a luxury btw to have two top 20 centers for 48 minutes.

But I swear Channing Frye was the last Blazers big to jump a screen and recover. Nice to see that Kanter already knows how to do this, because Terry sure wouldn't teach it.

Not sure what you've been watching, but I saw Meyers (yes Meyers) hedge and recover multiple times in the past few games. I was actually taken aback when I saw it.

It must be like that myth about how the Native Americans couldn't see Columbus' ships because they didn't exist in their visual database.

I dont really remember this, but honestly when it comes to Meyers if I dont remember his defense thats usually a good thing, because he hasnt been screwing up.

I don't think the Nets going like to see Kanter again this season he so huge numbers against them this year.

Nice. However, all of that is against the Nets, so...

Doesnt matter. It shows he's better than Meyers because I've never seen Meyers play this good of pick n roll defense against anybody.

I've heard many straw man arguments, but triumphantly proving that Kanter > Leonard takes the cake.

I mean, we're talking about two bad defenders here. If Kanter is no worse than Meyers, he'll be a huge help because he's elite offensively and on the boards.

Kanter scores with effortless ease. I've always thought that if he played in Europe, with less-rigorous defensive expectations on him, he'd be considered a world superstar. (Of course now that he's a wanted man, he'd never consider that option.)

I'd say we're catching up with Euro ball now that teams score 150 pts a game and you can't breath on anybody when you defend without fouling....Silver likes his big scores!
