start rookies at the 1 and 5, plus korver or babbitt at the 3, we could tank pretty hard this year, potentially have 3 lottery picks next year, one of them in the top 3. Maybe aldridge will miss much of the year with a mystery "heart problem".

Memphis pick is protected so its middle of the first round at best. I'd hold out for more than those two picks the Minny pick likely won't be great in 2013 either. Make them give up a 2015 or 2017 unprotected pick.

I really don't think that Minn offers up both 1st rnd picks and Ridnour for Batum. If it's a rumor, I'm sure that was Olshey's offer that probably received a quick "no". Maybe the Memphis pick and Ridnour but not both picks.

I'll just say that this organization is really really high on Batum and the ball is in our court. I think we even turn down 2 first and Ridnour and just keep the overpaid Batum ourself. I don't agree with it but I think they would.

Minny is the team that is trying to acquire someone they seem not to have the funds to acquire. If they truly want Batum, they are going to have to do much better than Ridnour & a single pick.

You speak as though Minny was in the driver's seat. Not so. You are on the outside looking in and trying to find an attractive enough package to get the desired goal.

I understand Love isn't necessarily happy there, how about Batum for Love? We'll even toss in Babbitt to even things out a bit.

Well I wouldn't read too much into that. Even without an offer sheet he'll still (eventually?) be able to negotiate with Nicolas and his fuckwad agent even if Minny doesn't present an offer sheet.

Minus Hibbert, it looks like he's full steam ahead with his plan B and isn't looking back, so that's at least nice to see, but it doesn't really affect Nic's situation I'm afraid.

Definitely the most realistic. And definitely one I wouldn't make.

I saw Korver play 66+ games last season, plus the season before. He's not bad at all. He's a shooter, not a scorer, but he had a handful of decent scoring nights. He's a deadly 3pt shooter and shoots well off screens.

His defense is a lot better than I expected, considering he isn't so athletic.

Is he a starter? Probably not going to get starter's minutes, but if you're going to do an SF position by committee, he's a solid guy to have around. You'll always want him on the floor at the end of close games, since he's a very good FT shooter and also can't be left alone at the 3pt line.

Plus he looks like Ashton Kutcher.
