Hey, all of you fantasy football gurus out there...what is your analysis of this trade scenario?!

DeAngelo Williams + Wes Welker --> OUT

Calvin Johnson + Clinton Portis --> IN :sherlock:

Also, feel free to discuss any fantasy football related topics in this thread...

Love Calvin this year. Not high on Portis at all. Is this a keeper league? PPR?
D-Will has proven to be a stud in a run first offense despite "splitting" carries with Stewart, and if Welker is 80% healthy or better, which I think he is, will catch 80+ balls this year.

Tough. If this a keeper league I might do the trade just so I could keep Calvin on my roster for the next decade. If not a keeper league, then I probably would not do it, especially if it's PPR. It's a close call.

Basically, I didn't help you at all.

...NOT keeper. NO PPR. Standard scoring +/-.

The rest of my RB/WR roster includes:

DeSean Jackson

Devin Aromashodu

Ray Rice

Jerome Harrison

Dallas Clark [TE]

Tim Hightower

Felix Jones

Mike Williams

What is your leagues scoring system?

Rushing Yards = 10 yards per point; 3 points at 100 yards; 5 points at 200 yards
Reception Yards = 10 yards per point; 3 points at 100 yards; 5 points at 200 yards

[TDs = 6 points | Fumbles = -1 point | Fumbles Lost = -1 point]

Reception Yards = 10 yards per point; 3 points at 100 yards; 5 points at 200 yards

How many players in your league? Do you play with a flex player, or TE?

CRUCIAL! I am benching Welker and DeAngelo in week 1 in favor of Harrison and Aromashodu...

I don't like the deal. Portis sucks, and I'm not sure Johnson....who is a superior talent....will catch more than Welker because of the offenses they are in. I'd rather take a chance on Brady getting my guy the ball than Stafford.

The way I see it, DeAngelo is on a downward trend. Matt Moore is their QB and teams will be daring them to pass, even more so than in the past. J-Stew is on an upward trend and whatever the split was last year, he won the battle. Even if it is the same split this year, then DeAngelo is valued the equal...if not lower. Portis is "healthy", no time-share, and a QB upgrade to take even more pressure off. Welker will catch a lot of passes, gain some yards, but I don't see him scoring many TDs. Calvin on the other hand, should compile top 5 stats at WR. Overall, a significant upgrade at the WR1 position with a nominal downgrade at the RB2/3 position. A risky gamble perhaps, but I love to gamble!

That is my scoring system, and I was just looking for some input on my team and who I should start this week.

2 RBs

3 WRs

Ok, so....
(YAHOO! PROJECTIONS IN PARENTHESIS)

QB: Brett Favre vs. Miami (13.53) or Joe Flacco at Cincinnati (14.33)?

RBs (pick two): Frank Gore vs. New Orleans (14.74), Arian Foster @ Washington (15.82), Steven Jackson @ Oakland (10.65), Knowshon Moreno vs. Seattle (11.45)

Flacco should do better than Favre

Foster is an easy start, but don't expect him to duplicate what he did last week. I still think Seattle had a fluke win, so I would start Moreno as well. No idea who your recievers are though? I don't like Gore because SF can't ballance his runnig game out. Oakland has an above average run defense, despite last week

So you think Moreno over Jackson? And I forgot to mention I also have Darren McFadden.

My receivers are: Marques Colston, Steve Smith (NYG), Percy Harvin, Santana Moss, Mark Clayton
