I'm not fond of them passing on him either. Not sure if drafting him would've had an impact on the trade that garnered the Blazers the #6 pick from the Nets.
I'm not sure it would have had an impact, but if for whatever reason the choice was Faried or Lillard, I'd take Lillard. I'd much rather have both though.
He's one conceited bastard.

on the start to his career -“It’s been OK, nothing spectacular, nothing over the top, just solid,’’ Faried said. “I’m more of a humble type, the I-can-get-better-type. I don’t believe in being complacent.’’
yeah, what a egomaniac![]()
One theory is that Faried got red-flagged by Dana Sinclair, the Blazers’ team psychologist, who conducts a test with all prospective draft picks.

Statistically Faried and Hickson are almost identical.... except Hickson is one year older and shoots a better percentage.
i forgot how young jj is! fuck faried, we have a better one!

But can he coexist with LMA?
He IS co-existing with Aldridge. Averaging a double-double is nothing to laugh at for any big guy.

I should have said can the team succeed with them together. I say no
Pathetic. Time for another layoff Mr. Mcgowen.
Yeah, so she flags him, and somehow she was ok with guys like Oden and Martell?
Then couldn't the same be said for Faried?

The biggest difference is contract status going forward. I love Hickson but all things considered it would be nice to have Faried and his contract status. Especially since it is no gimmie at all that JJ is back next year.
I think there's a good chance he's back next year. Unless we do a sign-and-trade, I think he's a good guy, I think he fits our "window" and he's the kind of big that every team needs.
I am not a cap guru but a lot of people who are think there is little chance he is back because we are going to have to renounce his rights to get the cap space that Olshey keeps talking about.
Passing on Faried was a 'wink-wink' incentive thrown in to make another deal happen, I can't remember which...
Sorry if I'm missing on the sarcasm, but we supposedly passed on Faried as part of the Felton deal.
So, Denver fleeced us over twice on one deal.
