You can debate it sure, but he is not charged yet and won't be for months at least if the judge has her way.

and if a monkey could fly, it could fly. She's not presenting a strong case to change anything.

I get that people need to have their day in court, but when the evidence is so overwhelming there needs to be a threshold where they need to say "stop trying", cause at this point its well past the "beyond any reasonable doubt". It's just wasting time and resources.

He's used to fighting people with less money than he has. So in the past, he could just delay delay delay, and the other person would settle and sign an NDA, etc.

Problem is, the government has more money than he does and has significantly better lawyers than he'll ever have and also laws on their side.

Good points. He's running out of time and space.

I have a feeling this "special master" is the last grasp. There can't be much more once this gets taken down (and it should, I don't know how it gets taken seriously).

It seems, based on the videos of lawyers on youtube (albeit, consider the source) that she's doing a horrible job "saving" him, and is being outclassed by Garland at each and every step of the way.
Would you mind expanding on that? I'm quite ignorant of the situation but if the Justice Department has to take it to the 11th circuit, that also leans heavily Republican. Saving him in this case seems to just be postponing things and drawing this out enough and creating enough road blocks that Trump can run again. Any chance of that? History says yes.

Every legal expert is basically laughing at her incoherent judgement. If it goes to the 11th circuit, it's more likely they will side with the DOJ.

It's 2022, politics trumps judgement every time.

Except in the courts.

See: all the trump bogus election fraud cases.

WE have evidence against trump, he had nothing.

It's quite different when you have overwhelming evidence.

It's 2022, politics trumps judgement every time.

I don't know, there were 0-60 record in the court cases that Trump (and co) brought to judges that he appointed seems to suggest it's not about politics when you can get in a shit load of trouble for playing favorites as a lawyer or a judge.

Even if he was knighted (he wasn't, there is a public list) it wouldn't make him king.

Now Trump was "Knighted" as King of England!

As someone who was at the secret King knighting meetings, I can tell you that Trump was not there.

Judge Cannon denied the DOJ's request to continue their investigation while the special master looks over the documents recovered from Mar A Lago. She cited media leaks as her reasoning. She ordered the investigation halted until after the special master has looked through the documents and she can make a further ruling.

Sooner or later, that fucking dolt is gonna get what they deserve.

The entire special master idea is simply a way to make it all happen after the midterms.

Washington (CNN)US District Judge Raymond Dearie will serve as the special master tasked with reviewing the documents seized from Mar-a-Lago.

Dearie -- the only candidate for the role that both the Justice Department and former President Donald Trump's legal team agreed on -- was tapped for the position by US District Judge Aileen Cannon on Thursday.

Who is Raymond Dearie?

Dearie, a Reagan nominee, has served as a federal judge in New York since 1986. He retired in 2011 and is now a senior judge in the district.
He also served a seven-year term on the US Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court, or FISA court.

How long will Dearie have?
Cannon is giving Dearie a deadline of November 30 to finish his review of potentially privileged documents.
The DOJ had sought for the process to end in October, while Trump's team said they preferred 90 days.
Cannon's schedule means the review will end after the midterm congressional elections, essentially guaranteeing the Mar-a-Lago investigation will move slowly for the next two months, unless a higher court steps in.
She directed Dearie to prioritize sorting through potentially privileged classified records.

I wouldn't be surprised if Dearie comes back and says they are all protected by privelage and Cannon accepts that and rules none of the documents can be used to charge Trump.

How do we know Trump is paying off Dearie? He had to have pick him for a reason as a potential special master.

He was the only Judge on both the defense and DOJ list. I'm actually good with this judge. He's been around a very long time. Old enough to know what is right and do it no matter who is involved.

I thought he was on Trump's list and Trump's lawyers wouldn't agree to anyone on the DOJ list so they picked him from Trump's candidates.

Glad he's fair.

He probably won't, but if he doesn't, Cannon can overrule him.
