I don't understand how the Knicks are trying structure their depth chart. Are the Knicks planning on playing Lin at the two or something?

How do they plan on playing Lin the kind of minutes that justify his new contract, give Jason Kidd his share of playing time, and also find time for someone who averages 34.8 mpg on his career in Felton? Not to mention that Iman Shumpert is coming back in January.

Meanwhile, they don't have a backup for J.R. Smith at the two.

J-Kidd plays a decent amount at the two these days. He's 6'5", a physical but no so quick defender, and is now a great spot up shooter.

you don't need another player, since we don't know what jeffries' deal is. COuld just as easily be 2.5-3 a year.

Also, I've always been under the assumption S&T can not be multiple players on one side, but then was the Marion S&T a few years back a whole bunch of separate small trades, essentially? Because I know they acquired Marion in a S&T with other pieces.

and also makes no sense. Jeffries isn't valuable. Deal should be cost saving(moving thomas), and adding jeffries obviously destroys that

I really hope this trade was made as a precursor because Jeffries is terrible and Gadz has seen his best years.
