It works well for both of us. We get something for nothing and the Knicks give up a little to get a point guard and a power forward they wouldn't be able to sign otherwise.

According to Realgm we also get Printezis. Papanikolau was the MVP of the Euroleague's final game (as shown in Fez's link) and Printezis made the winning shot. Both play for Olympiakos in Greece.

Turning Felton into a tradeable asset and getting Papanikolaou is Olshey's first Obi-Wan, "these aren't the droids you're looking for" moment.

Weird that the Blazers sell the 41st pick then trade for a guy drafted at 48. Getting a little something for Felton is cool though. I was hoping they might draft Papanicolaou in the second round after watching the Euroleague final.

That says Printzeis is under contract for 3 more years. My link said Papa is for 2 years but can buy out 1 year from now. So this is more Pritchard stashing. Anyway, neither will be here next season.

This link (Maxey) also says that Quick reported it first. Yeah right. It was all over national sources, who got it from local NY media reports, before Quick woke up and smelled the coffee.

So let me get this straight

We traded a fat free agent that wasn't coming back anyway

A 40 year old center that woul have only seen time if every Blazer was hurt

for

A 2nd round pick

Gorgeous Georgios

Kostas whatever

And Jared Jeffries ... AND cash ...

I mean win-win-win-win.

No on-court impact, but collecting assets, right?

Felton's gone so that's good, but I don't think we actually got back any players who will ever end up making a significant impact playing for us.

Jeffries probably has more on court impact than Thomas, so I disagree with that part, but absolutely collecting assets

Neither should ever be allowed to take a minute from a young player's development.

The two Euros we got were both considered first round talents, so you never know?

We got back the Greek Rudy. If this is a good or a bad thing is up for interpretation, I guess.

At worst, addition by subtraction. Felton was useless and didn't want to be here. Thomas seems an OK guy but sort of in the way right now. Blazers unloaded both without having to pick up a huge contract and if any of the pieces work out it's all good. Ole Olshey (not good, but still trying to come up to compare to the incomparable Pritch-slap).

I know Maxey said "not for a few season" but his agent said after the draft that he'd be in the NBA next season.

The way he stuck to his guns against the Clips, how about "Dr. NO" (Neil Olshey)?

Yeah, still not great.

NY Knicks roster looks like it was built by Bob Whitsitt. Individual talents with little chemistry. Kidd & Felton at PG will be disaster.

Problem, e_blazer, is we want him to say "yes" sometimes. Just not to Minny's absurd offer.
