Why not worry about something real?

Obama's attorney general issues orders to spy on dozens, if not hundreds of journalists. He used some provision in the patriot act. When Obama was asked about it in a press conference, he said he stood behind the action, and didn't say there was anything wrong about it.

Same thing on a tinier scale. Obama is testing the waters, pushing the boundaries just like Cheney did. To make you more likely to accept eventual implementation of these orders.

Before Bush, I would have been outraged at any return to Nixonism. Bush's 8 years numbed me into just fighting for my own survival in a country with no rights left.

In comparison, Obama's spying seems penny-ante.

Here's the thing about executive orders. The president can't just executive order whatever he wants. It has to be something already passed by congress, and likely those laws directed the executive branch to come up with these plans.

As for W and O, I was concerned about the patriot act when it passed, but I was really concerned about what Hillary would do with the powers. Hillary didn't win, though. The guy who did is doing just fine at abusing the law.

Oddly, I looked at maybe half those, at random. All signed by JFK in 1962. I guess he was preparing to nuke the USSR.
