There are fans who are calling for sweeping changes. Do you think the roster needs tweaking or significant changes?

“The same people that wanted sweeping changes last year?”

(Questioner responds: I don't know. I don't know them personally. I just hear from them all the time)

"Right. Great. Well, last year was going to take sweeping changes because we got swept by Golden State in the first round and all the alarmists overreacted.

"But this idea that (we need) sweeping changes. Where were all these people that wanted sweeping changes 10 days ago? Where were they? They were the ones bouncing off the walls in the Moda Center when we got the third seed .

Relative to people back in December who were complaining that we weren't going to make the playoffs and we were in purgatory because we weren't going to make the playoffs and we weren't going to pick high enough. Right? That was the rallying cry. Then it was, 'Oh my God. They're going to blow the third seed because they're going to lose all these games. They're not even going to get home court advantage.' They overreacted to that.”

Man, the disdain this guy has for the fans in Portland. He thinks we are all beneath him. I will never forget that exit interview.
Didn’t want anyone to forget what Neil thinks of Blazers fans...

Would anyone else be okay if Chauncey Billups took the reigns? He has been talked about as someone that wants to coach, I think. He has just as many championship rings as Stotts lol

Billups has absolutely zero coaching experience. I'm not saying going after a retread either, but at least have a few years of experience either as a college coach or an assistant NBA coach.

I'll take Stotts unless we can get a proven better NBA Coach, thank you very much. One who has had at least as much success as Stotts.

Not sure what the fuss is we have a really good roster once players get healthy. We kept all our young players who have better potential then most players we could’ve gotten. I’m excited to see how we do in 2nd half of year. Plus this years draft pick won’t be to bad considering where we will finish

Pat Conningtaun > Any signee/trade of Neil's aside from Hassan and *maybe* pre-injury Hood.

Again, Fuck Neil Olshey.

If the Blazers don't pick up Ariza (because money saving) and Whiteside leaves in Free Agency, it's a fucking disaster

The scary thing is that what it might cost to keep them both might also be a disaster. Whiteside's camp has to know we can't lose him for nothing, therefore they can ask the moon and put us in a horrible position. We have no leverage over either one of them.

I'm okay with keeping Ariza, he's been pretty good on defense and can shoot the 3, 12 million is okay for a player like that. With Whiteside, i have no idea what to think about, i'm really mad right now and not in a good mode

He moved up to draft Collins at 10 when Donovan Mitchell and Bam Adebayo went 13th and 14th.
There are an awful lot of players that GMs overlooked. It's part of life. You celebrate the winners like Lillard and bemoan the losers like Collins over Mitchell but you don't declare the GM a flop because every once in a while he makes a mistake. How many of us knew Mitchell was going to be something special besides Utah?

This x100... I'd take it a step further and say "If Utah knew Mitchell..." or "Golden State knew Green..." or "Milwaukee knew Giannis..." they would've traded up and taken them much earlier. Sometimes you get lucky.

Silver lining of missing the playoffs: Jody should at least start pondering firing this shitty GM!
They just traded away a player to save $2 million. There is zero chance they eat 4 additional years of a guaranteed contract.

why would jody care about anything as long as the team makes money. I would imagine she rarely thinks about the team. she has a team of assistants to do that. if she were to worry about the blazers Vulcan et al would grind to a halt
